So it went up on ForgeWorld today, does anyone know if there'll be a non-special edition version, or is there only going to be printed 2000 copies?

They said they'll be doing the normal edition once they've sold the 2000 copied of the SE.

However, the SE is just the same book in a fancy slip case. I imagine the normal one will be the same price, so there's advantage to holding off.

once it is sold out the non SE book will probably cost the same minus the slip cover.

It's a Venerable Dread type, without the usual table. Instead, it has a choice of three upgrades.

Host of Daemonic Icon - Gains Daemonic Resilience, and any Hull Points lost in close combat causes a S4 AP3 hit on the offending unit

Destroyer of Cities - Gets the Assault Drill and Flamespurt Cannon, +1 front AV, and has Move Through Cover, and in Cities of Death gets Wrecker.

Lord of the Long War - If destroyed by an Explodes! result, roll a D6.

1-2 - Replace it with a Chaos Spawn

3-4 - Re-roll the damage dice. Needs a second Explodes! result to do so, otherwise apply the re-roll result

5-6 - Replace with a Daemon Prince as per Dark Apotheosis

Can fight in challenges

Loads of the usual toys for it to pick as well. And can have Malefic Ammo, which in this case grants all Heavy Bolters or Autocannons carried Rending.

Hey so what can you guys tell me about the updates rules for the greater daemons? I like the giant Bloodthirster and Lord of Change for Apoc, but would like to hear what you guys think about the updated rules. Are they good? And if so, what makes them good?
