Hello all. Yesterday I was playing some games at my FLGS, and came upon a sticky situation. My opponent was playing Circle, and his Warlock had a spell up negating me from casting spells inside his control area. I wanted Alexia to pop two Thrall Warriors onto a zone to contest it, but was told to do so was a spell, and thus could not do so. On the card, the Grave Summons ability is shown as a star action, but my opponent said since it fell under the Magic Ability [8] options, along with Hellfire, that it too was a spell. I ended up not using Grave Summons, and was unable to hold the zone, losing to scenario. So to sum up, Is grave summons a spell, even though is is a star action? Thank you in advance.

Spells have 2 definitions. Spells cast by models with Focus/Fury manipulation, and * actions or * attacks listed under magic ability.

Grave Summons is indeed a spell. Bestial will stop it.

Thanks. I shouldn't have been able to drop clouds with the Ternions either then. Bestial is quite a nasty spell. Gonna have to rework my list a bit.
