How viable is this formation? It seems very fun and I am considering purchasing the models for it so let's discuss what you think of the formation, what loadouts you would give each 'group' in this formation, and how you think it would fair against typical armies in today's modern army lists

That's exactly what it is. And you can make it range from 2000 to 3500 points depending on your loadout. I understand a lot of people here do not play these amount of point however my meta does.

I wish my FLGS played those point levels. I love to match that with the Tyranid formation that contains all 8 or 9 they have. I could finally field over half my army.

It's really fun. All of us own at the very least over 4000 points and hate seeing most of our armies sit on shelves so we always field as many as we can. The only downside is time. We have to plan a week ahead of time to play.

Well if your running Covens and can afford it, it's a very good formation with the Master of Pain applying to the entire army at once.

It's a bit top heavy though, you'll never have enough ranged, but make sure you can get chronos with the FNP booster and you'll do okay.
