I've read that quite a few players put Kurovs Aquila on a CCS and throw them in a chimera to expand the bubble.
Are there any rules that support this? From my interpretation it's 6" from the model with the Aquila, not the transport. Am i missing something?

When measuring range to models embarked in transports, you measure to the hull of the vehicle. Have a look at the transport rules in the BRB.
