Just as the title implies, a friend of mine bought Icestorm, we played the first 4 missions, and I was already hook line and sinker. The notion of 10 models for a game also sounds like heaven, as I stare at the mound of Dark Eldar plastic beside me.

I've looked a lot into similar threads, and understand that most factions do most things, just some better than others. I'm trying to go off minis I like on the site, and putting it into the army builder but of course, I have no idea what to put into a list, and would ultimately end up with a 150 point list of 5 scouts for Adriana.

In terms of playstyle - I'd ideally like something that is fast, brutal, and pays for it by falling over to a stiff breeze. Elite units, so potentially a small force.

The factions I'm leaning towards are Yu Jing, Haqquislam, and Adriana. Gotta love bikers and snipers!

I'm really struggling to put a small 150 point list that should do for just shooting 2 friends, and a third that is picking up PanO knights next month. In no way does it have to be remotely competitive, I just keep running into AVA problems on the models I love and have no idea what else to pick!

For Yu Jing, love the Hac Tao, Oniwaban, ninjas, etc. - with Adriana, love the 4 man scots box set and scouts (and that really nice looking tankhunter) - Haqquislam, love their Hassassin's and tech.

Any and all help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Any army can be built to be elite through heavy infantry and veteran choices. Although I think Aleph does it best because their defenses are really good(high BTS, cheap zero-V smoke, mimetism, ODD etc) in addition to above average stats so they can afford to have smaller squads. the ASS sectorial for Aleph lends itself to this very well.

Ariadna's strength is in having lots of camo models on the board. They often play with 2 max squads.

Haqqislam is a combined forces army with strong regen pieces and snipers and above average PH values. Easy access to template weapons (which are changing significantly in 3rd edition i.e. easier to dodge).

I would say go Yu-Jing as they can be built in any direction and have access to most options except a decent TAG. They also have some strong CC options which is getting a boost in 3rd edition.

That being said, more models on the board is key in Infinity as you do not want to have a small order pool as it really limits what you can do and when you start taking casualties you will start to feel crippled compared to your opponent.

Cool, thanks for the tips.

Was undecided between them, getting the Nomad Corrigedor starter and running it as a standard Nomad list, or getting a handful of Adriana models.

Would be fully sold on Adriana or Yu Jing if I liked the models for the line troops!

I went with PanO because I like the Teutonic Knights models =)

so basically, pick the faction you think looks the coolest. I know that can be hard with such a nice range of models..

Pick a starter box you like the look of, chuck their profiles into the free army builder and see how many points that comes too, then add a blister or two that you like.

Maybe get the highlander starter box and expand from there. Though vanilla can only use two out of the three line troops in the box. Or go for the sectorial and pick up the sectorial starter along with the scots guard box.

For my nomads I am splitting ice storm with the gf and I have added the corrigator box set and a few hellcats to go with it.
