Subject: Warhammer 40K Video Bat Rep #258 Grey Knights vs Daemons
Wow. I thought the Daemons would take it with the crazy amount of units they summoned into the game. Seriously, there should be a rule where summoned units cannot grab objectives, or cannot contest them, otherwise last turn shenanigan will not be limited to Eldar Jetbikes boosting.
But man, those Dreadknights were awesome. My favorite unit of Grey Knights.

Good fight ... one thing ....Chapter, or Chaptor?!?
Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

I keep hearing people say that Centurions are least effective against Daemons, but you gotta remember they still each have a Hurricane bolter. So that's 18 tl bolter shots, more anti-infantry power than pretty much anything Jason had. Are they are useful as they normally are? No. Are they crappy vs Daemons? Not at all

Very nice batrep. Congrats on whooping the greatest 40K play alive (tm).
Honestly the daemon factory lists are just not the win button that people like to make them out to be. They are seriously hard to play at a consistently high level for 6 games straight. The lack of ObjSec on conjured units and shooting options on the daemon army as a whole is the secret sauce that keeps them from being broken good.

I think the army has potential but needs a specific build to really compete in the top tier. Seems like overall daemons are not as strong now in 7th edition but I could be wrong.
Yeah, I am just not sure about daemons anymore. They are still doing fairly well but they also seem a lot more intensive to play. When I play daemons I may win my first few games but by the time I play my third game I am tired as I had to do a lot of thinking; choosing the right gifts, rolling order for powers, then units to conjure and their gifts/powers, etc. I also have to lug around 2 big cases of models if I decide to run a conjuring based list (which stinks even at a local level, doing that at LVO or NOVA and on the plane/drive just seems terrible). I have a funny feeling that daemons under perform just from player fatigue.
They just don't seem to have those builds that you can power through your first couple of games on autopilot. Correct me if I am wrong though.

It is a nemesis strike force detachment for the GKs and a SMCAD. So dogger is totally fine. Though I think allowing that but not allowing double CAD while giving more model variety conversely also makes less variety in army lists as everyone brings allies.

I don't think daemon factory is very good. It's main problem is to get so many dice you have to commit a lot of points to pink horrors and Tze heralds who can't shoot and are awful in combat so they basically do nothing but summon. But then the summoned units are all assault units that deep strike so they have to wait at least a turn to actually try to assault (and they still have to catch a unit). And being MSU demons they are paper so easily lose casualties to even average shooting before they do any damage.
This batrep was a perfect example. The daemon player had done 0 damage after 3 turns. The only damage the SM/GK player suffered was from Warp Storm and perils. Now granted the Heldrake hadn't come in that has nothing to do with daemon factory. Summoning is a great power for getting extra units on objectives late game or perhaps a toolbox option, but its not good enough to build a whole army around.

Frankie, bro you had some bad rolls, but you gotta admit Raw Dogger had reeeeeeaaally good tactics with those knights early. I thought he out rolled you... or I should say, you out rolled yourself!
