Mostly, on my phone.

Well, more the former than the latter.
The idea for this thread is to share people's experiences of the Scenarios that come with the ships:

1) What ones have you tried?
2) What ones have you enjoyed, and why?
3) What ones have you not enjoyed, and why?

I firmly believe the way forward for this game is fun so bear that in mind. I'm going to hang fire with my thoughts just now, and let folk share.

I got into STAW because I happened to be at my FLGS on a Sunday afternoon when a couple friends approached me and asked if I would like to make an even number for OP3. I told them I didn't know how to play the game, but my friend said "It's just like Wings of War, except instead of movement cards, you use a dial." I had nothing else going on, so I jumped in with a borrowed fleet. Imagine my surprise when at the end of the day, I got a bunch of free stuff just for playing! I was like "Is it always like this?" and they replied "yup."

The only missions I play are the ones me and my friends make up, or practice for an OP. To tell the truth, I'm pretty sure the only mission cards I read where the ones in the starter box. All the rest of my mission cards just go in a pile off to the side. I guess I'm a semi-competitive player.

There has been some rumblings around the clubhouse lately about missions, so I might have to take a second look at them...

The Kobayashi Maru scenario is a great one for demo / starter games.

You take the Enterprise, and get 2 new players to play the Klingon ships, you all have a far more interesting time than, say, trying some of the booklet scenarios.

Another good demo / starter game is the 'Destroy the Scimitar' coop scenario in the Valdore set. That way everyone gets to work together.

I found the 'Destroy The Outposts' scenario in the Kraxon set to be utterly horrible. The Dominion player gets maybe 2 cut down ships at most and there's pretty much nothing he can do to stop the Federation side flying up the flanks and destroying the outposts 1 at a time.

The scenario in the Equinox mission is good for a quick game, however I think the special rules are more interesting to apply to a normal game instead.

The Mutara nebula mission in the USS Reliant set is supposed to be pretty fun too.
