Have some big blob with whatever nasty (all lascannon/autocannon, power axe, whatever), and have some way to cast invisibility on them.

Invisibility counters templates and blast weapons, which is supposed to be the anti blob weapon of choice, also hitting on 6 doesn't help anything neither. You just need to keep them away from your other units, as those can be targeted by blast/template weapons, and if you are close you can get collateral damage (like let me shoot 10 frag missile on that LR's front armor and see what happens to your invisible guys hugging it).

Reliable sources of invisibility are a bit hard to come by, as the only IG/AM psyker with telepathy is the lvl1 Astropath which can accompany CCS, and that's it. So you'll need allies. All inquisitors can get Telepathy, Henchman are likely the cheapest source of single warp charges in the game, but only unique HQs can get above lvl1. Also Be'lakor has guaranteed invisibility. Maybe some other unique units as well.

Would that work? Does it worth the hassle?

Chaos is not battle brothers with IG/AM so be'lakor can't cast invisibility on the blob.

You'd want Tigerious because he Lv3 and can reroll his generated powers giving him a good chance of getting invis.

If you insist on doing this, bring Tigurius. He's expensive, but his rerolls on the psychic chart and psychic tests make him well worth it.

Loth has guaranteed invisibility.

Issodons warlord trait lets you infiltrate 3 units + himself. Also get to scout the unit and grants it shrouded (and stealth 1st turn).

Take raptors with AM and red scorp allies.

Infiltrate the blob (upgraded with 5 power axes, 3 melta bombs and 20 krak granades) with Loth and issodon (use 3rd unit as grav cents maybe).

After scout move the blob is 12" away from the opponent.

Send down a tac squad pod turn 1 with attached inquisitor with rad granades and AM priest inside. When they disembark they can leave the tacs and join the blob. Pod will not scatter due to issodons locator beacon. Tactical squad stays in front of the blob to give them intervening cover.

Move blob 6" forward.

Cast invisibility in the blob

Run forward.

You now have a blob which has a 2+ cover from shrouded + stealth + intervening cover, invisibility, fearless, rerolls hits and wounds in assault phase, opponents at -1t, 5 power axes on AM sargeants, 1 powersword on a SM captain and a force axe on a SM libby. This blob is now between 1 and 5" from an opponents unit at the end of turn 1.

If you want to be really silly, instead of infiltrating the grav cents, take salamanders as another ally slot and attach Shen to the squad to give them 4+ fnp and a further powersword.

I thought Loth could only generate from Biomancy, Pyromancy, or Telekenisis?

EDIT: I see. Loth was updated twice and I was looking at the old update. Still, Tigurius's psychic test rerolls will be able to use your warp charges more efficiently.

I'd absolutely field Loth with a Centurion squad, though. He can tank any AP2 wounds on his 2+ invuln and use LoS to pass everything else onto the Centurion squad. Nice combination.

Loth would probably go better with the cent squad, true. As long as you're not tanking st8+ (so looking at tanking plasma, rending, bladestorm etc), as even with a 2++, its a 1/6 of a chance of failing and losing your source of invis.

Nope. That's the only discipline they don't have.

Tigurius than. He has solid chances of going with invisibility + inquisitors for backup. Or you could just get Azrael and 4++, Fearless all the time.
