Apart from a possible devvie/HWT with missile launchers, yeah.

I personally like the quad gun, because 4 TL shots are better than a single TL shot, you might be sacrificing strength, but you can still get really good results.

If it's manned by IG, take Quad-gun. Never rely on a single shot with BS4. Twin-linked or not.

Neither is particularly effective, but at least it's not as bad as flakk missiles.

I'll point out that an IG unit on a quad gun benefits massively from the 'Bring it down' order - man the gun with an officer or commissar for BS4 TL, then get tank/monster hunter from the order. That's 4 pretty good shots at up to AV12.

I take that back. With the ability to do that thing, both flakk missiles and the quad gun aren't bad.

Also definitely the quad gun over the cannon as long is it's manned by a squad that can take orders.

Yeah, IG are one of the only armies that can make Quad-gun work really well. I'm not well-versed in IG special rules, but if they can take two orders in a turn (there's a special character that allows this, right?), then quad-gun with Ignores cover and Tank-hunter is a skimmer killer.

When a unit receives an order, they shoot immediately. You cannot issue two such orders to the same unit, even with Creed.

If you use ratlings or PCS' commander, you'll have BS4. Likely your other BS4 will have better stuff to do.

Yeah, my vets are being built, but the plan is to have them tank hunting. ( melts chimeras)

It depends. My experience is that the quad is better against FMCs like Tyranids and Daemons. The Icarus is better if you need to drop flying vehicles, since S9 drops AV12 flyers more reliably.
