I´ve bought a single box of Scions because I like the models when they came out (quit playing 40k a year ago).
Are they still as looked down upon as they were shortly after their release?
Are they viable as a compliment to Space Wolves or AM or even as regular Tempestus?

Yeah, they really don't bring much, unless you like fluff.

Build a sergeant and two melta troops using the melta provided and either kitbashing an additional one or using any additional melta bits you make have. This makes a cheap, effect suicide deep striker squad. Oh yeah and of course you need two standard rifleman schmucks. Don't forget that Scions have krak grenades as a back up. I once whiffed both melta shots on a chaos dreadnought (forget the name for it) and then proceeded to glance it to death with the sergeant and the two riflemen throwing krak grenades at it.

You can kitbash an additional melta by using pieces of a Flamer and either a hot shot or a regular lasgun.
