Ok I'm pretty sure there have been a few discussions about this already but I can't seem to find an updated thread for this guy.

Q: How many attacks does an Ironclad Dreadnought have?

So I take a look at the codex and an ironclad had 2 base attacks. Then I take a look at it's gear and it says it is equipped a power fist and a seismic hammer, I take a look at the weapons profiles an they are both specialist weapons. Then I'm like hmmmm... lets see what the rule book says about having 2 specialist ccw (specialist weapon: a model fighting with this weapon does not receive a +1 for fighting with two weapons unless it is armed with two or more Melee weapons with the specialist weapon rule.) Then I go to the vehicle walker section of the rule book and it states that a walker gets an additional +1 attack for each additional weapon after the first.

So here is what I see. Ironclad has two base attacks (2). Both weapons have the specialist rule (+1). It has two close combat weapons (+1).

2+1+1=4 attacks

Am I missing something here?

Why are you adding 2 attacks from more than 1 weapon.

Specialist weapon rules only state you can receive an extra attack if you have 2. It doesn't add more attacks itself. It just removes the restriction that you dont get an extra attack by combining a specialist weapon and a non-specialist weapon.

Walkers can however gain more than 1 extra attack by having more weapons. This only ever comes up if you can take more than 2 melee weapons (such as a deff dread).

its just worded awful, I think. Cause it says the rule doesn't add an extra attack UNLESS both are specialist. So what i translate from that is that if the model is equipped with 2 specialist, not one, but two, it does receive the bonus attack.

Right - the bonus attack for two weapons. It's not a bonus attack for two Specialist weapons, it's
Spoiler:
A model fighting with this weapon does not receive +1 Attack for fighting with two weapons unless it is armed with two or more Melee weapons with the Specialist Weapon rule.

a bonus attack for two weapons.
