As the title does the fireblade volly fire rule give sniper drones an extra shot or does it only effect pulse carbines and pulse rifles specifically.

Volley fire is very clear as to what it effects. It is different from Storm of Fire, which also clearly states which weapons are affected.

I don't play tau, this just came up in a game last night. I looked at the rule but because we were in a league and I didn't want to take up much time I let it go, but now that i have the time I wanted to look at this and since I don't have the tau codex I would appreciate if people responding could be more specific with the rules and their opinions

The quick answer is no, it does not benefit sniper drones. Beyond that we're just citing the rulebook (which is very clear and unambiguous about what it does).

Volley Fire lists what weapons it affects, Pulse Carbines and Pulse Rifles.
Longshot Pulse Rifles are not Pulse Rifles in the same way that Heavy Bolters are not Bolters.

Storm of Fire (the similar effect from a Tau Etherial) affects all 'pulse weapons' excluding Bombs - so it would affect Longshots.
