On the back of a hog.

Most people should be familiar with this build by now.

Base is Centurions, usually Tigerius, and some other Librarian/characters.

But how many Centurions are ideal? How many can you make do with?

Do you need the 6 max? A solid 5? Can you get by with 4? It is an expensive unit. Can we still kill a wave serpent with 4?

Honestly, cents have kind of fallen out of grace for the full annihilation unit they once were.

The 6 and Tiggy is a past hope, no longer all that great. Its just easy pickins. If you are to run them, try and go small and sweet.

People, at least in my area, have begun to rule that you can take cover saves against grav. This makes shooting at wave serpents a maybe. Tiggy can cast the ignore cover power though!

Aftermath can be calculated.

Why would you NOT be allowed cover saves against Grav weapons? Am I missing some special rule?

Centstars are fairly expensive and can generally be avoided on the battlefield as they are relatively short range and slow. Unless you can get Gate to shift them about, Divination for the shooty buffs and Invisibility to help them survive they will not perform as stellar as you might be hoping. Still, they make great objective holders and can be a nasty alpha strike when put in a Allied SW drop pod / Beta strike in a Stormraven.

If in doubt, frag it out...

There was never any doubt about taking cover saves against grav with infantry, bikes, cav, MC's etc. The whole rules debate basically broke down to the fact that in the grav weapons entry it never specifically mentions glancing or penetrating hits against vehicles, only that they lose a hull point and suffer an immobilized results. In the BRB (at least 6th) in the "vehicles and cover saves" section it only ever mentions taking cover saves against glances and penetrating hits. No glance, no pen, no cover save basically.

As far as the loadout goes, I think the "standard" now is to take Draigo for guaranteed gate and Loth for guarunteed Invisibility (or Tiggy for almost guarunteed Invis). Sometimes another psyker for divination rolls. Also it seems like people are taking 3 maybe 4 Cents.

The new trend on Cents is with Space Wolves Drop Pods. The optimal size would be the base squad + psyker

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / Fallout Factions: BoS / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion: CIS / WWX: Union

Astro and Vector got it.

If Lords of War are allowed, it's Draigo + Loth OR Tiggy + 4 Cents.

If Lords of War are NOT allowed, it's Tiggy + 3 Cents + SW Pod.

That is what I commonly see. I don't think I've ever seen 5 or 6 used competitively.

If you don't want to take SW allies you can replace the pod with a bunker with escape hatch.
