Beautiful paintjob. What technique was used for the saliva strands in the mouth and chest cavity?

A grudge never too old to settle with metal and ire on the funeral pyre of vanquished foe

It was a polymer glue.

A couple of suggestions, a thin line down for the iris like a snake would enhance the head feature, as most people look there first. The glow on the plasma for the basing makes no sense and distracts from the viewer.

Great job blending on the tail and claws area.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

I disagree with the plasma basing; I think it's pretty clear that some poor Space Marine got shredded before he could get the shot off.

Fantastic piece, and I like how the base is used to tell a story.

The plasma gun is good for the base, I'm just talking about the glow, as the marine is dead and no finger on the trigger to charge up a shot, a powered down plasma gun is what I suggest, it also keep the attention back on the nid.

I'm a fan of the glowing plasma on the base, as the model is so tall it makes a nice focal point for the lower half.

The whole model is painted amazingly. Love it!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I love it!
More realistic and gritty than most Tyranid paintjobs out there. The orange hues fit very nice as the fleshy parts.

And saying the plasma dont make sense is just silly. This is a weapon than malfunction and overheat every sixth shot. For all we know, someone rigged it to blow up as a desperate last effort.

Looks like there is a hand around the the grip of the plasma pistol folks. I think the effect he is going for is one like this:

In which case the modeler/painter did a fantastic job.
