Subject: What do you use for army transports?

So, I was just curious. I'v been looking into army transports for warhammer 40k and they are expensive, And dont hold many models.. A Feldherr Maxi (Feldherr seems to be the cheepest I'v found) Holds 180 infantry for 499 kronor.. And then you need to buy a sexond transport to hold your vehicles.. I was thinking of trying to get a good transport but now I'm thinking of just sticking to my boxes.. Currently all my armies (Exept my Space wolves) are in plastic boxes I bought for like 50 kronor. The boxes are big and holds hundreds of models plus vehicles. Sure they arent quite as protected, But, i'm generaly careful when carrying the box so I havent had any paint chipping or damaged models (Well, One model got his sword bent.. But thats one out of many hundred models.)
But what do you all use to store and transport your models in?

I purchased foam from battlefoam a while ago. I didn't bother with the carrier since I have a huge variety of cardboard boxes with handles (or without and I could just glue handles on). They had foam for fliers, which was the deciding factor. It was $100 to hold a 2000pt army. Since my more recent models are painted fairly well, I decided it was a decent investment.
Before that I was using egg cartons and fabric (lots and lots of bits breaking off).

I got a battlefoam PACK 720. Got 3 layers of the smaller thickness foam, one medium, and two large. Just the pick n' go stuff. The medium is perfect for terminator sized models, the small holds infantry, and the big ones hold most vehicles. With big awkward vehicles like my drop pod or Triarch Stalker I need to leave out one layer of foam for extra space, but it works just fine. The pouches hold all my dice, measuring tape, blast templates, 2 codexes and a rule book no trouble at all, and the foam holds either any two of my armies, or just my orks.
Had it for 5 years using it pretty much every week, and it's as solid as the day I got it. Literally cannot recommend it more.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

I use and like KR multicase. Flexible, and not that expensive (compared to the other case manufacturers).

I personally use GW cases, but a friend of mine went to a local walmart and got 5 pistol cases for around $20 each and these work great, and you can customize the foam, which is great and has great carrying capactiy
