I played a game yesterday against a guy in our gaming place who brought a farsight list.
Me was playing eldar.
Autarch jet bike laser lance fusion gun banshee mask mantle of the laughing god
5 dire avengers
Wave serpent tl sl sc hf
5dire avengers
Wave serpent tl sl sc hf

Wave serpent tl sl sc hf
Wraith knight sun canon scatter laser scatter shield
Wraith knight sun canon scatter laser scatter shield
Wraith knight sun canon scatter laser scatter shield
* Fire Dragons (290pts)
5x Fire Dragon
* Exarch
Fast Shot, Firepike
* Wave Serpent
Farseer
Spiritseer with the wraithforge stone
2500 points (wrote my list from memory)
I was playing against a Tau Player
He tabled me by destroying 50% of my force turn 1 and due to bad shooting from me killed 80% in turn 2... im looking for advice how to beat such a list since we have a toruney running today and yesterday was kind of a test game
he had
commander with 2 crisis i guess they had melta all around
about 4-5 crisis teams
1 had meltas
the rest had rockets all around
a team of 3 xv hazard close support ( hope im right in the name) with phased ion guns ( those rending things)
2 riptides with ion accelerator
3 remora stealth drones
an yvhara riptide guy
an xv107 rvarna riptide guy
and 6 broadsides, 3 with hymp and 3 with hrr, those and a riptide had a formation special rule that gave em tank hunter.
he had all his guys on the table, stole initiative and the shooting... was incredible.
really i never saw my wraithknights drop that fast..
in turn 2 a few came down by deep strike and meltered everything to death.
i have realy no idea how to beat such a tau list, anyone got some advice??

More LOS blocking terrain. Wraith knights sun cannon isn't amazing, against tau you are probably better off going naked and playing them aggressively to try and charge stuff/secure maelstrom objectives.
I would drop the second seer and 1 wraith knight for another couple of serpents with da. Maybe try and squeeze in space for another firedragon squad(drop the exarch).
Farseer is prob better than aitarch

List changes or tactical changes? List wise, swapping those Wraithknight Sun Cannon/Scatterlasers for Basic Wraithcannons would be a great start. Not only does it save you 180pts (!) but the Wraith Cannons are actually better. Riptides don't like Insta Death on 6's, Broadsides don't like being doubled out. So you are basically paying 180pts just to get a slight improvement on killing Terminators, but worse anti-MC duty. With the 180pts I'd upgrade the Dire Avengers to units of 10 Guardians, more people means more shots means more Rends.
Tactics wise, correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't see any Marker Lights. I think that means he have 0 Ignore Cover, so throw that Autarch right up into that 6 man unit of Broadsides. He won't kill them, not at AP 3, but he will tie them up lovely. Also, don't shoot your shields turn 2 so you can protect against the Melta Drop next turn. And play aggressive with your Wraithknight, he is one of the scariest things a Tau player can see across the Board, and he will shoot it with everything accordingly. Their shooting is good, their assault is better.

main problem was that the riptide thing with the special gun against MCs breaked Havoc on the wraithknights. also the haywire riptide is quite deadly in close combat.
he had zero markerlights but many weaons have that many shots that it doesnt matter.. the hazard suits for example put out 8 rending shots at bs4 per model!!!!!!!

Your Autarch has a 2+ re-rollable cover save at T4 (meaning most Tau weapons don't insta-kill him). It should take a LOT of fire power to put him down, something in the region of 108 wounds. The Autarch should be charging everything he can by turn 2, and munching a squad via sweeping advance a turn.Just don't charge 2+ armoursave stuff unless it's to tie them up for the rest of the game.

Ugh yeah that R'varna is gonna toast wraith knights. As above I would leave the WKs stock and just focus all of their fire into the R'varna until it is dead. With 6 shots you have a reasonable chance of instakilling it and he'll be forced to use his nova charge to get the 3++ instead of dropping more pie plates on your knights. Until the R'varna is dead, try to find ruins to put the WKs in. Area terrain might be gone in 7th, but ruins will still grant you a 4+ cover save even if you're not 25% obscured (and even if you are an MC!).

Yeah, buffmander + S8 AP1 suits is bad new for that Autarch, who really can't kill any of the enemy's good stuff as it's all 2+.

Also check if he is using the up-to-date or the old 107.
They changed from AP3 to AP4, its rather massive for a wraithknight. (among other changes)
Alex already covered the change to the knight weapons.
I'd also dumb down the fire dragons. never saw a reason to get exarch there, 5 fusion guns are enough for pretty much any tank anyway, the fastshot firespike exarch is just overkill.
Also, cover, cover, COVER. he had very little way to ignore cover, just the buffmander that went with a group of broadsides. even wraithknights love them some cover when they are getting hit by low AP guns from afar. you needed to have them in cover so they can endure, and later assault.
