Long story short: I got bored in class and wrote A short story, Critics welcome:

"Elves of Lothern, to your banners!" the sea helm bellowed over the sounds of battle and the moans rising from the enclosing hordes. The sound sent shivers down my spine. "Allain," Prince Typhus called to me "Burn them!" I nodded at my commander, and turned towards the enemy.
I drew my breath, a sizzle filling my ears. A heat flooded over me as I began to manipulate the winds of magic around myself. Sounds began to seem more distant, and my vision focused on the nearest group of skeletons. A loud crack followed by a muted thump was all I heard as the air around the undead combusted, leaving blackened, shattered bones, and a singed vampire in it's wake. We locked eyes for a moment, she was oddly beautiful, even as her burns faded away. And as the more intact skeletons started to rise again, and I readied for her charge.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
