ge I'm on the hunt for the muted grey space wolf armour. The studio blue armour is cool but i dont think it really does justice to the HQ characters.
A little help would be awesome. Cheers in advance all.

I use a Vallejo Dark Grey Blue, wash with black, rehighlight with DGB, then highlight with a mix of DGB and a lighter grey if neccessary.

I've painted my spacewolf with a basecoat of citadel Russ Grey, followed by a coat of citadel Fenrisian Grey, then shaded the recesses with a wash mixed from two parts vallejo Pale Grey to one part vallejo Blue Shade. 'Soft' armour (like joints) is done with a Nuln Oil wash over Russ Grey. Not sure if the result might be too blue for you, you can see what it looks like here.

Thanks . There's an awesome grey Space Wolf at the start of this thread that might be the kind of colour you're after.

I painted my wolves in a quite grey style using the fang as a basecoat, shade the recesses with drakenhof nightshade, layer with dawnstone and highlight with administratum grey. For HQs and sergeants I also highlight the edges with ceramite white.

Here's my version.
It has a brown undercoat with a vurmin fur dry brush some washes drybrush again with lighter grey tones and the trims are done with a base of karak stone and bleached bone (or what it is called today) highlight. Used black- / dark redish shoulderpads and ice blue as the alt color.
