Small model counts will tend to favor the Inq. And he will have a definite quality advantage.

Your list is't legal. You need a minimum of 10 Gaunts in a squad.
Also, if I added it up correctly, your list is 95 points naked. What's his list?
I recommend this list for small (750 - 1000 point) games.
HQ-
Hive Tyrant w/ Wings (240)
-2x BL Devourers
-Electroshock Grubs
Hive Tyrant w/ Wings (240)
-2x BL Devourers
-Electroshock Grubs
Troops-
Termagant Brood (120)
-20x Termagants
-10x Spinefists, 10x Devourers
Hormagaunt Brood (160 points)
-20x Hormagaunts
-20x Toxin Sacs
Total- 760 points
If you want to go higher, do this.
Elites-
Venomthrope (45)
Venomthrope (45)
Zoanthrope (50)
Fast Attack-
Gargoyles (96)
-16x Gargoyles
Total- 996

It's hard to say how to best deal with this, because neither of your units are legal, and we don't know what kind of stuff you're playing against. Having more models would help you out though, perhaps a box of Warriors? I'm assuming this is Kill Team as you're almost 100 points. Adding 3 Warriors would help you reach a good points value though.
What is he taking with his 100 points?

Swarmlord isn't viable. It's overpriced and ineffective outside CQC. Run a Flyrant with TL BL Devs instead.
Broodlord isn't viable either. Replace it with a squad of Termagants.
Hormagaunts are too squishy, but in Killteam they are good.
Zoanthropes are good.
Your army is pathetically weak in shooting. Shooting is always more effective than CQC now that we have Overwatch.

Bad advice. He needs Kill Team not standard. Though you are on track for standard play. Automatically Appended Next Post: Vulkanlord wrote:Verry sorry, that isnt all i'm using. I've also got the Swarmlord and i found the missing gaunt today oh and a zoanthrope

Kill Team still requires legal squads, assuming you are using the most recent kill team rules. So that broodlord still needs atleast 5 stealers to tag along with it. Zoanthropes are good choices though.

.....Right.
Tyranid Kill-team forces instantly run into the problem of Synapse. Numbers are good, but taking brood creatures falls into the trap of having your army fall apart with relatively little damage.
Genestealers are nice - and one of the best kill-team units we have. Zoanthropes are kind of fail because of the Psychic Solitude rule - they don't get brotherhood of psykers, so they're nothing but a floating synapse blob.
Warriors (or shrikes) are the only other real option - take a brood of 3-4 and fill up the rest of your points with gaunts to taste, or a venomthrope, or a lictor or two.
