So I've had this conversion idea in mind for about a year and I've finally gotten about 90% of the parts I need for it (a lot of it involved OOP Chronopia miniatures) so I'm just about ready to assemble it. The basic idea is, as the title states, your typical Slaaneshi CSM Lord on a Seeker with the burning brand.
My question for Dakka is this:
If you were going to make the most badass version possible of that character, what else would you give him? The only rule is that again, has to be Slaaneshi, on a seeker and with the BB. Everything else is fair game (supplements, war gear etc). How would you optimize this unit?

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..." |

I run mine with LC and melta bombs, VotLW, MoS (duh), and the 4++ item. Usually with a squad of bikes (with meltas) outflanking.
But, now that the ally rules have changed, I've been thinking of putting him a big squad of Seekers from Daemons codex and outflanking them to get that juicy backfield meat.

You can't put him with seekers as he is not a daemon of slaneesh and has no demonic instability. Which sucks, cause it would look great.

Right. Well, good thing I haven't actually tried that yet!
And Chaos Spawn. Run him with Chaos Spawn, too. That's probably what I was thinking of when I typed Seekers and went off on a tangent.

I actually went from running my Lord with Bikes, to Spawn, and back to Bikes. I think I prefer running him with Bikes because of the Icon of Excess. Getting that FnP save on the Lord is nice, adds a nice bit of extra protection when diving into the thick of it. Furthermore the Bikes come with a unit champion, so you can use him to hop in and take challenges you might not want your Lord involved in. And with the change to Jink rules, opponents can no longer snipe your lord with EVERYTHING because he didn't get an automatic Jink because he was Cav and not Bike. Spawn are good, sure. Great even. But I think the Lord adds more to and gains more from from hanging out with Bikers, and letting the Spawn run about and do their own thing.
As a side note, I really dislike outflanking with the Lord. Unless you are taking a fortification with a Coms relay, our reserves aren't the most reliable things. If your Lord decides to stay off the table, you are fighting several turns with one of your heaviest hitters off the table. Both Bikes and Spawn are fast enough to get into position early on, and I find I'd almost always start him on the table. To be honest I mostly take the Steed of Slaanesh over a Bike for the Lord because the Steed Looks amazing. To be honest a Bike is probably more competitive.

If you want him to be good, maybe give him the daemon sword with +1 I in the black legion supplement . He will strike first against almost all other infantry / HQ's. I think it's like 15 points to get

Slaanesh lord is not a beatstick. like Nurgle or even Tzeench lord. His strength comes with the rules he provides - namely, outflank + accute sences.
I've tried this:
Slaanesh lord on a steed (Sigil, LC, MB, Brand, Gift of Mutation)
Fabius Bile
20 slaanesh marines with an icon, 2 meltas and combi-melta+LC+GoM champ
That works for me vs gunlines quite well.

You know, for some reason, I've been really against trying to outflank large units, but I might actually give that a shot next time I play.
A friend of mine has a Pask/2 Wyverns/Knight list that has confounded my marines from day one, and this might be enough to take care of at least one of those.

Knights are somewhat hard to deal with mass marines cause all you have to reliably damage them is a few PF or melta bombs. Yep, you'll tarpit them but it's not quite good for the price. Tanks, on the other hand, tend to be more than killable with the abundance of mellee attacks and krak nades. And your durability is good enough to distract the opponent.
Knight killing on the other hand is done extremely good with Kharn. But he won't be able to run with Slaanesh Lord.
You aim for the turn 3 strike, so you really need comms relay. Stuff like a dragon, deepstriking oblits, termies, raptors, carefully flanking nurgle spawns and basically any turn 3 threat will work with them. But if you just outflank a bunch of marines and lord in there alone and hope for the best, you'd be better off with an infiltrating list with cypher.

I just put together a list with 18 outflanking marines (because yay numbers divisible by 6!), a a unit of bikes (to maybe pop his chimeras that hold the flank opposite his knight) with a sorcerer who is there to both a) summon some extra daemons to keep his infantry distracted and b) turn into a KoS once the bikes get whittled down a bit (who can keep summoning daemons, and be a threat to vehicles in the backfield).
There's a couple of Maulerfiends to roll up with the bikes to the pressure on as well, and maybe soak up some of the heavier weapons fire.
It's also got some Noise Marines in a Rhino and Cultists (with the blob's Rhino) to scoot around and take objectives as they come up, or blast away at infantry when there's nothing else to do.
As far as the knight goes, I've learned a while ago to just ignore it as best as possible but maybe the Maulers can take it down.

Thanks for the advice guys! I realize the Slaaneshi lord on mount isn't the biggest beat stick in the world but I wanted to do the conversion so I figured I'd make him as good as possible. Thanks again for the comments!
