Hello, I've constructed my first army list for a match this coming weekend. I'll be playing against a Blood Angles army that likes to field a lot of tanks and a Chaos Marines army that could field just about anything he likes, but i'm guessing a lot of bikes.
Betting on getting infiltrate on the strategic traits list, but generally trying to get close to their troops with the boyz while the rest of the army deals with their vehicles and heavy support. Also trying to spread out the units so they cant prioritize one single "biggest threat".
Should i combine the boyz into a single unit? do the gretchins derserve to sit this one out?

Tankbusters a that level work really nicely in a trukk, however they don't need a nob. They only have 6+ armor, and if something kills 2 of them, expect them to be dead. The mob rule will kick in and cause D6 strength 4 wounds, which'll knock out 3 or 4 more, destroying your entire mob. Save your points and ditch the nob.
Kommando's are... iffy. Burnas don't work very well against stuff whcih good armor (i.e blood Angels and Chaos Marines). That'll save you some points there.
For it being a small game, I would say that joining your boys together would be good. 25 models are less likely to suffer from the Mob Rule. Large numbers of boys really REALLY like painboys too. for only 50 points, the entire squad gets FnP, which is nothing to scoff at. Getting infiltrate for 25 boys is awesome and see if your opponent will let you use your Tankbuster Nob as a Painboy (or one of the Kommandos).
Make sure that you get 2 Rokkits in your 25 shoota boys, that'll help against anything big. I would make them shoota boys personally, as you have no warboss ATM to take advantage of CC.
Let the Grethins come in and run them to cover/objective. People have a tendency to ignore them for the most part. Pray that they focus on the Boys.
As a future aim, I would suggest something like this:
|
30 Orks by Foot.
17-20 in a Battlewagon.
12 in a Trukk.
I want offical rules for the Super-Ork that the Mad Dok is working on... |

You can also try youre luck and put 2 rokkits in that komando squad to try shoot tanks in theire back, but it would be more of a lucky attempt than something that works effectively

There's not much use for a kommando pc nob in such a tiny squad. I'd rather go with 5 kommandoes wielding 2 rokkits. They're not exceptionally killy or something but can occasionally shake a tank and are good for maelstorm.
Tankbustas need a truck.

Yeah, was thinking of using the Kommandos to take out Devastators or other units with Blast plate weapons.
here is an optional list, I would need to proxy a little more but should be able to field this. I don't currently own any Trukks, so those aren't an option.

Bomb squigs are of arguable usefullness than. I'm quite sure tankbustas won't happen to be in range to use the squigs if footslogging, being an easy target.
