V. 1.2

HQ: 110

Autarch - lance, fusion, jetbike, banshee mask

Tanks wounds for spears while providing grenades and mask.

Troops: 480

Storm Guardians - x10, fusion gun x2, transport A

Storm Guardians - x10, fusion gun x2, transport B

Both serpents will provide cover for spears / wraithknights advance. Also has the ability to answer multiple threats that may get into the back field.

Elites: 245

Fire Dragons - x5, transport C

Targets knights / mc's, otherwise will also support with guardians.

Fast Attack: 531

Warp Spiders - x7

Warp Spiders - x7

General all around useful unit, can target pretty much anything.

Shining Spears - x9, exarch, monster hunter, hit and run, star lance

Hard hitting, tough, and fast. Can answer any threat on the table.

Heavy Support: 480

Wraithknight

Wraithknight

Hard hitting, tough, and fast. Can answer any threat on the table.

Transports

A - wave serpent - scatter, ghost walk

B - wave serpent - scatter, ghost walk

C - wave serpent - scatter, holo

Everything in the list is very fast and durable. Just something I want to start running and tweaking it. A second view would be helpful.

Edit: Rules clarification (i'm dumb) changed dragons up a bit, spiders got bigger, and dropped shard on autarch for lance/melta.

autarch needs a laser lance or something to make him work with the shining spears

I would rather have fearless and challenge protection for the exarch.

I'd lose the storm guardians in favor of 5 DA each, drop the exarch from the dragons, drop ghost walk for holo fields on A and B and see if that gets you a farseer on a jetbike.

You've got enough points invested in that unit that it might merit some psychic support from the farseer. Guide, doom, invis, etc. could go a long way to making that unit work.

The Autarch can have a Laser Lance AND the Shard. Give him a Lance.

I don't think you can use fast shot with the dragons breath flamer so that will save you some points.

You'll have to let us know how you get on. I've had a box of them unopened for about a year after getting them for xmas

Taking a single farseer is somewhat useless. You won't have enough dice to do anything useful. 3 + 3 (avg) = 6 dice, so 1-2 powers maybe? If I go this route I would just replace the spears with warlocks an take 2 farseers. A little more on points though.

The ghost walks are just superior to the holo fields for those units, If I am in terrain I ignore dangerous and claim a 4+ without having to jink. The dragons are running holo's only because I suspect they will be moving in the open to target knights.

The storm guardians vs DA is something Ill never understand. I get the same amount of shots on a disembark, but better with 2 BS 4 melta shots, and 30 attacks on the charge. Not to mention 5 extra wounds for holding onto objectives longer all for 45 points. Switching them both would save me 90 which I could buy a squad of bikes with for late game obj.

Fire dragon exarch below.

If I never use the lance though why waste points on it? If anything I might add a fusion gun to the autarch.

I don't see why I couldn't shoot twice. Really the only reason I am taking him is so the unit is not completely useless against lists without MC / armor(knights).

I'm sure it states you can't use fast shot on template/blast weapons

I would second dropping the flamer and swapping Defenders and ghost walk.

I would try and fit in a jet seer, bit of phycic defense and can boost alot on the field.

10 Spears in a squad might be overkill, i see them as a harass unit going after tac squads, devistators ect maybe try and squeeze in 2 x 6 and double up on the exarch St8 AP2 lance.

Should read my rules more often, you are correct sir. Saves me a few points. Will edit the OP.

Def dropping the flamer, but I still value storms and ghost walks higher. I'd have to see a good reason to switch.

Only problem I see with smaller units is that the first couple of losses completely cripples the unit, and they lack the punch to do anything at that size. Doubling up on exarch does sound like fun, but then I'd be running two large squads. I want to try running with 9 for a couple games and see how it works with the other parts of the list. My only concern is actually there somewhat large foot print.

Im currently building a 35+ jetbike army, the foot print is pretty crazy! good for area denial, Bad for template avoidance.

As for ghost walk, If you are going to be made to jink its better to make it worth while with a 3+, With the maneuverability of the serpents i dont see the ghost walk getting much use, could save 20 points. List is looking good though.
