Remember when flight simulators took place in space, and had all sorts of fiddly controls alongside angular graphics?
What if I told you there's a place that you can still play those games? That you could strap yourself into a solar powered rocket and fight the Rebel scum?

Get some Surge and go hunt some X-Wings.

I saw this earlier today, and I am crazy pumped. I just pray that it has joystick support (and if it does I will be buying one).
Sidenote, but I hope they also redo Grim Fandango. That's a LucasArts adventure game that I always really wanted to play and never got the chance to. Funny story, around the time it came out when I was a kid, my dad was going to get it for me, but he didn't like that it had a character smoking on the box (lol) so I ended up getting Return to Krondor instead (which was also a fun game...but I still want to play Grim Fandango someday).

Once this is out I will buy a current joystick and play it again and again. I loved Tie Fighter so much and even played X-Wing a lot (by copying save games, though, starting all over all the time was not acceptable).

There's a "current" space combat sim, called Eterium, that's got all of that. It's clearly inspired by Wing Commander, and worth a look.
But of course, it's not Star Wars. And TIE Fighter is an excellent game even without the Star Wars label.
