Going to be playing my friends Tau for the last time before I put my Nids in storage, focusing on my DE and Orks.
Thoughts would be appreciated, Venomthrope ain't ideal against Tau but still I may be facing off agianst a few other armies so I'll take what I can get.
Did have four DS Rippers but realised Warriors are Troops too xD This is double CAD after all

Depends on if there is VT missile sides or not. Once the Flyrants go you are pretty much over.

Honestly, if those rippers aren't put in the right place and used correctly against the Tau, then they gonna get munched by Tau weaponry.

Well I just faced off against my friend.
Performed surprisingly well - it's the sort of game that makes me want to carry on with my Nids. Played Eternal War -Scouring and won 11-0 on points. I had lost a Flyrant (due to perils) and one unit of Rippers. My opponent only had a Commander left on the field - locked in combat with a Flyrant.
The Rippers simply sat on Objectives in Cover and stayed on them all gameas they are supposed to. The highlight was when they took out the last wound on the Riptide, even when it had FnP.
Flyrants jinked with the Venomthrope nearby and then zoomed up. Rolled Psychic Scream twice and did a lot of damage with Psychic Powers and Devourers
The Warriors didn't do an awful lot but did keep the Venomthrope in Synapse and did cause a few wounds. May switch to Venom Cannon as this list usually has snap shots fired against it.
Have a nice little base to work on anyway.

Nice man! well played and happy to hear you are planning on sticking it out. Nid's are by far the coolest.

Haha, well dice rolls went my way, he had a unit of Crisis suits with Plasma and Fusion that failed to come in from reserve until turn 4 at which point my opponents army was in little pieces of what it was at the start of the battle. In comparison 2/3 units of my Rippers came in (technically all three but I dropped a die and refused to use it) and started to claim objectives, forcing my opponent to adapt. It was a mobile Tau force, but nowhere near as fast as my list.
Trolling my friend by deploying just outside the range of his plasma guns helps too XD I agree! Even if I did move onto DE and Orks, better it be Xenos than the imperium
