The formation is so expensive, with so few points left over I though putting mass guard in front of the Lance as a gunline would give them the most buffer, this is what I came up with, the guard gunline puts out 40 autocannon shots per turn with some assorted lascannon and sniper shots as well:

Sniper rifles in lascannon squads makes no sense. Your putting an anti-infantry rifle with an anti-tank/mc heavy weapon.

Just giving myself some options with the few spare points I had, it's a gunline that is sitting back anyway, usually they'll be shooting at infantry so the the rifles will be of good use, it's the few lascannons that are thrown in there as a hedge against av 14.

I'm just a bit worried about the 1 shot aspect of the errant, statistically that is, it's just so many points wasted if his pie plate scatters off, with the paladins getting two shots each your going to kill stuff each turn.

I actually think this configuration is better, I drop the rifles all together and run the CCS bare and I get two full heavy weapons squads of Lascannons to shore up the AV 14:

Looks better with the two lascannon crews, and with a gunline like this, three paladins I think is just better. I like it, you manage to get a lot of bodies on the table despite running AL, should look daunting to your opponent for sure.
