Hiya as title says I'm thinking of starting and I really like how beastmen look. I read up on 1d4chan, and various sites I Googled and I guess they're terrible? I was told by a friend I should just play WoC, but idk I like the beastmen aesthetics. What would be a good starting point to start this army and not get junk?

Well beastmen are a tough army to play but it can be done.
Just be aware that they are a hard army to win with and you normally can only use a few different builds.
Now with the new end times glotkin book beastmen warriors of chaos and daemons are all in one book.
I would still buy beastmen tho because they will eventually get a new book and I go by the idea that you should buy the army you like the look of. So just get beastmen and you'll learn to play and win with them (even if it takes awhile lol)

Lol yea, I know they're not the greatest but I really like the look of them. Would the battalion box be a good buy to start off?

Ya I would start with this:
2 battalion boxes
1 doombull
Box of warhounds
1 or 2 shamans
Gives you a good start I think

What book is this? Would I need the beastmen book and this glotkin book? And whilst reading on 1d4chan I stumbled upon the bsb abbreviation. Does it mean battle standard bearer? And what are son good tactics to do with them? Sorry for all the questions just want to get the most out of them.

Ya I just read that you can now take marks of chaos on them which is awesome.
Bsb is battle standard bearer yes
There's a few beastmen players on here who would be able to give you better advice on actual builds Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh also the book we are talking about is The End Times: Glotkin book I think you would still need the beastmen book but I'm not 100% sure. Glotkin book is expensive tho and is sold out online so you would have to find one in a store

Do as I do: make a Chaos legion army. A nice mix of Daemons, Warriors of Chaos and Beastmen. Most of your opponents will allow it. Not sure on tournaments, I've had a mixed bag of yes and no

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field. |

Do I need each individual codex for each one or will that glotkin book suffice?

The rules for each individual army you'll need the books for. The Glottkin book basically gives rules for how to use them all together.
If you are just starting WHFB for the first time, just stick with beastmen for a while. You can always get some filler WoC and Daemon units later when you've had more experience with beastmen, and have an idea of what roles you would like these supplemental units to fill.
Starting off with three army books is not only expensive, but just confusing.
