The chaos Codex reads that a heldrake can make a vector strike whilst zooming instead of swooping as it is a vehicle. I am assuming this means he cannot make a vector strike whilst hovering. I just want to be sure I'm interpreting it right.

That is correct as he would not be zooming while in hover mode

Baleflamer can never hit an air target. Swooping/Zooming fliers are immune to templates.

Not true. Zooming Flyers cannot b hit by blasts/templates. Swooping FMCs can be hit as long as the weapon has Skyfire. Though this might be an oversight.

A FMC does not have the hard to hit special rule (hence why I never field my Deamon Princess anymore). , so it can be targeted by a template weapon so long as the firer has Skyfire.

Interesting... they both have a "Hard to Hit" subsection in their rules, but the FMC's version of the rule conspicuously omits any reference to template or blast weapons. Which means that the Heldrake can hit swooping FMCs with its Baleflamer.

It is a really strange change too, many debate if it is even what the Authors Intended or if it was a coping error....

After checking it myself that is wierd, but it's probably a trade off for the 360 arc of fire + Vector Strike that FMC have over Flyers
