Am I right in thinking that you can make regiments as large as you like? I'm looking through my Beasts of Chaos army book and most units say stuff like 5+ or whatever.

Some old books can still have upper limits (like Bretonnians), but otherwise, pretty much unlimited size indeed

Just remember more is not always better though. Once witnessed a 120 night goblin block flew off turn one.

happened to af riend at a tournament some time ago
long story short:
- Turn1 begins, stuff moves around
- 18 longbowmen shot at 5 reavers, wiper them out
- White Lion deathstar (BOTWD, alarielle, banner of alarielle, shadow king, dispell scroll mage) is within six
- rolls 11+ on Ld check
- re-rolls a 11+ on Ld check
- runs off the board
