Hey guys!

I have 9 killa kanz, 2 deff dread and soon a mega dread. Is there any way or tactics to be able to play competetive with this? Do i need a Morkanaut or Gorkanaut?

The only time i have play it, it was funny but absolutly not competitive...

Let me know if you have something that works!

May the WAAAGH!!! be with you!

I run a walker heavy list. I feel they can be a strong list and I do fairly well with them. Have to play smart.

I think the best way to run dredds is out of the dread mob army list in units of 3. I generally take an allied dread mob of a pain boss, 10 spanner Boyz , and 3 dredds.

You need boys or grots to bubble wrap the walkers though for the first 2 turns, keeping a 6 inch bubble helps with heavy melta gun spam, at least in my area. Also have at least 2 KFFs.

I love my morkanaught. You have to play him as a support not a front line. He sits back with the kff in the back field lobbing shots. In 13 games I've only lost my naught once on 1st Turn and 2 times last turn. Other wise he has made it through the entire game every other time.

Don't try the Mek heavy repair spam it doesn't work. It's a neat trick but it's a waste of points better spent on stuff that kill things not repair. Just use grot riggers on naughts. Not worth it on dredds and kanz.

My 1850 I use 4 kanz, 3 dredds and morkanaught. Rest is filled with shoot a Boyz , Koptas and mek guns. A balance of walkers and lots of bodies makes the list work. Personally not a fan of the mega dredd , rather use a naught or more kanz.

Could you please give more details about that? I assume it is staying in the deployment area covering mek guns with KFF. Am I right?

most likely not, I'm under the assumption the morkanaught is advancing with the walkers and using his larger footprint to ahead kff love to more targets.

Thanks Dakkafang! so the way i see it, you play half and half boyz mob and walker to make it good. I will try it next game. how will you do it in a 1000pts game? 2 dread, 2 killa kanz, 2 kff and the rest will be boyz?

Correct , Morkanaught advances with the army. Dredds/Kanz are 6 inches in front of him putting about 9 inches from the front of Dredds/kanz to the naught. Between the dredd/kanz are boys surrounding the naught. Then flanking the naught Boyz and grots. Big mek is used to cover other unit of dredds/kanz.

For 1000 points I would take
CAD
big me with kff, killsaw, lucky stikk, bosspole, heavy armor
mek with rokkit

30 shoot a Boyz with 3 rokkits and nob with shoota and big choppa
10 grots

3 kanz with Rokkits

3 deff koptas with twin rokkits

Allies
pain boss with boss pole

10 spanner Boyz
2 dreads with 2 skorchas and extra armor

Cant fit a Morkanaught in 1000. Stick pain boss, big mek and mek with shoota boyz. Kanz in front under kff and dredds on their flank with in 6 off kff as well. March forward, using grots and spanner Boyz to support and hold objectives. Koptas harassing.

The big hitter is the 30 strong WS5 shoot a Boyz with fnp and a 5++. Either they focus that leaving the walkers alone or they focus walkers and the large mob goes to work.

Edit: silly auto correct doesn't know ork words/typing

All right, i just came back from the store. I have played against a tyranid army. 3 carniflex, 1 hive tyrant, 1 tervigon, 1 trygon and 1 mawloc.plus 2 troop of whatever. I have field :

2 pain boy
1 Big Mekk kff, lucky stick, bp, heavy a, BP

2 troop of 30 boyz (one shoota, one slugga)

2 squad of 3 killa kanz rokkit

2 Deff dread (1 rokkit 3 DCCW)

2 squad of deff kopta

13 gretchin

At the beginnings it was better for him, but at the end, i really stud up with my 2 troop and deff kopta. 1 of my dread did the job and the other one didn't even get to close combat... one of my kanz squad did a few wounds to is trygon and the other kanz squad didnt do gak all game long.

Thanks for every one advice! I think my kanz/walker rally destabilized my opponent more then arming im. He concentrad more is shot on them then on my boyz.

I love my walker-heavy orks

The dreadmob formation from the Ghaz supplement is my favourite (as FW isn't in use at my FLGS)

You need 2 gorkanauts or morkanauts
3 deff dredds
9 Killa kanz
Painboy and Big mek.

I play mine aggressively, piling them forward as fast as i can. If i'm playing at 2000 pts I'll throw in some more walkers, or Mogrok's Bossboyz formation from the Red Waagh book to get outflanking big bots.

It isn't a gamebreakingly awesome tournament stomping list, but it can pack a punch, and the theme is awesome to me.

I ran a Gorkanaut Krushing Krew (red waaagh supplement again) at my last 1000 pt game night. Three gorkanauts can make quite a mess, with 2 small units of grots and 2 big mek hq's with kffs as a great waagh detachment to fill out the points )

Big stompy ork walkers are fun

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Nice !!

Ya, I noticed the walker list is a slow starter. First 2 turns it doesn't do a lot. But on turn 3 if your oopponent has not done enough damage you start to wreck shop.

Like I said if he focused the walkers the boys would make Iit or vice versa.

Kanz are hit and miss for me too. But they are the grotz of the walkers, if they die instead of the other walkers / boyz while granting a cover save I say they have done their job.

I too am starting a Dredd Mob formation just need 3 more kanz painted.
