I am new to Dakka and figured the proppa' way to introduce myself was through Battle Report.

My brother and I are just getting back into 40k after a very long hiatus so please excuse the unpainted models. We used to play back in 2nd and 3rd Editions when we were young, but lost most of our stuff in a house fire. We are still getting used to the new rules, but we had a great time and I'm excited to be modeling and painting again.

Let me know what you think of the battle and try not to judge us too harshly! I promise my full army will be painted before I post my next Bat Rep!

welcome to dakka. some great terrain you got there. looks like a good game. Your report is very long and detailed, for some this may be preferrable, personally i think less is more when it comes to descriptions. You've got so much going on you are destracting from the more exciting parts of the battle. Let the pics tell the story and then do a brief synopsis of the turn. Good luck, im sure your next battle will be even better.

Thanks for the input. I'm sure you're right and most people would prefer to keep it brief. I really wrote it for myself and my brothers, and then decided to share it. Next time, I'll try posting it direct onto the page here and I'll keep it more in line with what I've seen from others on Dakka.

Just want to say, your blog is awesome! I have been on a similar hiatus from 40K, but your blog has inspired me to begin painting my Space Marines, make terrain and start producing battle reports. Look forward to seeing more of these. Keep up the most excellent work!

Thanks, Legion91! The positive feedback is most appreciated. All the great armies, terrain and battle reports on the internet really helped inspire me to get back into the hobby so I'm glad I can help the next guy. I hope to see some pictures of your new models up on Dakka sometime soon!

I'm posting my next batch of four 'Ard Boyz tonight. I love being able to share the hobby through the 'net since I don't know too many people that play and there are no stores near me (and with toddlers I don't get out much anyway!).

You love the T-Rex. Its both a hero and a Villain in the first two movies. It is the "king" of dinosaurs. Its the best. You love your T-rex.
Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.
