I use my phone to browse Dakka most of the time, but problem is that the mobile theme doesn't quite work all of the time when I'm reading threads. In fact, most of the time, when the topic opens, it does a hiccup, the large mobile text blinks out, and it's replaced with normal-theme small text. I end up squinting to try to read millimetre-tall words on my phone screen.

Any ideas what the problem is? As far as I can tell, it happens when either a thread page or a single post reaches any moderate-to-long size. This (so far) single-post topic pops up normally for the theme, by contrast.

Have you tried switching to the 'classic' theme and see if that has the same problem?

Sorry for the necro but I have this exact same problem at it is killing me. It started happening after the last dakka Update this summer and it is happening exactly like described above. I have tried every dakka skin and 3 different browsers, but same thing...

Hope there is a solution under way, used to surf dakka A LOT on the bus, but now I'm being forced to go to warseer *shudders*!

Well, now that it's at the top again: Yup, tried switching back and forth between themes, like Gorlack here, seeing what worked and if the mobile theme 'reset' itself. No joy.

Like the topic title sequence suggests, has this got anything to do with windows phones? I'm fairly used to them being the red-headed stepchildren of software development. What platform are you using, Gorlack?

I'm on a Windows Phone as well

The problem started after the old bug with the header was fixed (there was a bug where you had to scroll down like 3 screens before you got to the post). But I would love to go back to scrolling as long as the text was fixed!

EDIT: On a Nokia Lumia 920.

Could you please type out a step by step on how to replicate this problem consistently, as I've still not been able to replicate on my windows phone test device. Once I can replicate it I can fix it.

Hm... Seems weird that you can't replicate it, because it happens litterally every time I visit a thread that's longer than one page (even though I only view the thread one page at a time).

But Windows Phone have a feature for enlarging text on webpages and while I wouldn't normally need that feature I tried it. On every other webpage it could scale the text to giant letters, but it had zero effect on dakka. So... I dunno. Guess it could be a clue? I would also be more than happy to send som screens if it would help.

Just to double check, when you say threads longer than one page, you mean threads with more than 30 posts?

Yep, that is what I meant I know it sounds strange, and I don't know if it is just a coincidence. But it always seems to be the case.

But a new thing I have found out is that there's always a load of extra blank space beneath the thread proper; i.e. if I scroll down far enough after the thread stops there is a load of blank "generic dakka background" on the page that I can scroll past before I hit the end of the page. Would screenshots help?
