Been playing 40K for a few years with just friends, so I've only ever played against Chaos and Tyranids. I will be playing against other armies soon and I have also become interested in making a hybrid(?) ally(?) army with my Imperial Guard, like Space Wolves or something but I have no idea where to start...

Hey Welcome!

Sorry to hear your from Wolverhampton

Any army will do for an ally, but from a game play perspective an imperial army would be best cause they're battle brothers, so space wolves would be a good choice. If you check your rule book for the allies chart that might help you.

If you want to start Space Wolves then as with any army I'd recommend starting with a troop and an HQ. Grey Hunters are the go to troop choice for them. As for an HQ probably a Wolf Lord or Rune Priest but Space Wolves are fortunate enough to have a large selection of HQs so go on GW website and pick one you like the look of.
