Know this sounds a odder one but I'll ask it.
Do people have tanks and units where they have recorded worthy kills painted on like tank vs tank kills, that stubborn enemy HQ that gave you that last point you needed.

Little things that tell that one unit from another and show somthing of your plastic armies history.
And if this sounds a silly idea do be honest. I won,t call the Inquisition :-)

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

I used to put kill markings on stuff when i built it. My favorite way was to take decals from the other army and put them on nd then put a red slash across it. I would also mount marine shoulderpads with their markings.

After building/painting them though, I never fool with adding them on after games.

I generally paint kill markings on for the sake of coolness, as it adds character.Only on one model does it mean anything, a single guardsman who killed seven Space Marines over the course of a game (including a Librarian and the last HP of a Dread) has those kills marked on his gun.

Also, when adding decoration to minis, especailly dead things, I'll theme it to my regular opponents' armies, painting their clan/sept/dynasty/chapter markings on the dead.

Some of my Space Marines have dead Tyranid bits mounted on their backpacks or even a claw combat knife on the hip of a sergeant. But again, that's modeled at painting, not because a marine killed a Ripper swarm...

On moon miranda.

I will sometimes paint them on certain tanks, but never really as a reflection of any one game, just as a general "cool factor" thing.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
