The general go too from what i understood is to take more slaves
as well more WLcannons

Keep thing super cheap and take em in bulk. you also want to run a BSB for delicious LD rerolls and run your blocks in 5x 5+ bus to make use of LD bonuses.

If you can you could split up the Giant rats into minimum blocks for redircets and deployment shenanigan.

well, first off, have at least 50 models pushing the screaming bell, I use storm vermin, but clanrats work just as well. slaves are only good if you are going to be really shooty, and you need a bsb in a skaven list. THe thing is with slaves is that they are cheap. and you can shoot into them. Personaly, I don't field slaves, but I can see why they are amazing.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

First, Skaven live and die by their rare choices. You want more of them, especially Warp-Lightning Cannon. When building a list, fill core, then fill rare, THEN look at other stuff.

Second... Ratling Guns are the weakest of the weapons teams. Once you've filled rare, Warpfire Throwers and/or Poison Wind Mortars are good for extra firepower. Doomflayers and Ratlings, not so much.

Third, your Stormvermin and Plague Monks will need more bodies to be effective. Skaven of all breeds die to a stiff wind and aren't terribly killy, so you need LOTS of them to win a combat. 30 is a MINIMUM for a combat block; 40 is better, and 50 for clanrats and (especially) slaves is not unheard of.

Fourth, BSBs may not be required for Skaven... but they are so useful they might as well be. Get one.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.

in regards to the weak units, are the ratling guns the only ones i should scrap?

i have 3 warlock engineers, im really confused if that would be viable at all.

For the BSB, Am i able to just say one of the standard bearers in my clanrats is a BSB, then say which standard im using?

Im just concerned at the moment with bodies on the field, i dont plan on being very shooty, i hoped the magic i will be capable of would make up for it.

is that a good idea?

I would try to get another Doomwheel in there as, like I do with my brother, your opponent will probably try to take it down quite early on in the game. Also they are really good to flank units. Hope this helps

Warlock engineers are awesome. doom rockets can be hilarious or give em lv1 and go nuts with warp lightning.

They also spread around a higher base LD which can be important.

Another good Rare would be the Hell pit abomination.

its also very strong and is awesome when it comes back to life after death.

Ooooooouuu a new skaven player how exciting yes yes!!!

Here's a little shopping list for you:
1 box of stormvermin
1 box of plague monks
40 clanrats (should be able to get the island of blood ones on eBay for about 15-20 dollars for 20)
Hellpit abomination

Could also throw in another doomwheel and cannon but let's not go overboard....yet haha

Interesting that you have jezzails and globadiers those aren't popular choices but I don't mind jezzails. Never used globadiers just because of 8 inch distance so just use them as gutter runners (should be okay to do that)

I'm not a fan of the screaming bell at all. Sure its unbreakable and gives a 4+ ward to your grey seer plus 18 inch inspiring presence but I don't feel its worth the 200 points. I'm a big big fan of the plague furnace tho!!!!

2500 point list for me contains this (you can switch it up but here's what you want or a varient)

Warlord
- halberd, war litter, armour of destiny
Grey seer
- talisman of preservation, power scroll or skalm
Chieftain
- BSB, talisman of endurance, halberd
Engineer
- doomrocket
Engineer
- lvl 1 wizard, warp energy condenser, dispel scroll

40-45 slaves
- musician
40-45
- musician
25-30 clanrats
- hand weapons, shields, banner, musician
40 stormvermin
- full command, storm banner or razor standard
40 plague monks
- full command, plague banner
5 giant rats with packmaster
5 giant rats with packmaster
5 giant rats with packmaster
7 gutter runners
- poisoned attacks, slings
7 gutter runners
- poisoned attacks, slings

Hellpit abomination
1-2 doomwheel (if you go 1 then go with a cannon as well)

Various lists and variations of that but that's pretty much a standard type list. Wasnt sure exact points tho so might had to add or substract some units.

Let me know if you need any more advice....enjoy the joys of the verminous hordes!
