Warwick Kinrade has just written a detailed introductory piece for the Battlegroup WW2 rules.

Excellent read! This might help me recruit a battlegroup player.

I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this, but book-wise, what is needed to play a game of ww2 battlegroup? I noticed there's a Barbarossa book, a fall of the reich, etc....

I already have some 20mm germans, russians, and some brits. Not looking for a pdf. thanks in advance!

You need the mini rulebook and whichever supplement takes your fancy...

If buying two or more together, contact PSC direct as they often do deals.

I picked up Battlegroup Kursk earlier this week, interested in grabbing the rest of the series, I think this may be 'the one ruleset to rule them all'. Obviously its not *perfect* but it has some very interesting mechanics and brings in a lot of elements that other games just gloss over or do a poor job abstracting/representing.

Great, thank you for the reply! One last question: If I wanted to be able to play germans, russian, and british not in early war; which single book would be the best in the series?

Thanks again!

Fall of the Reich has lists for all three (and US) but it is aimed at very late war, the real last few months of the war.

Its actually my favourite late war book, gives very good games with the right feel of that period.

I can give you some links to AARs from that supplement on our forum if you want to get a feel for it.

What did you use for that rubble scatter?

I'd asked for something like this a few years ago. Glad to finally see one available.

I'll look it over later today.

I think we might run our siege of Augusta demo as "Into the Field with Charlie Platoon". Maybe some people familiar with the intro handout online would be more likely to notice the familiar title.
