I'd like to utilize some different units then normally but I'm not very sure how as when I bought my shadow spectres I bought them for the fun of painting not thinking how they'd function in a list. So I was wondering if you guys could help me write a list that incorparates some of my new/newly/finished painted models (squad of 5 incubi, Archon, Harlequins, Wraithknight, shadow spectre phoenix lord). That'd be great thanks
So far I'm thinking:
- Shadow Spectres phoenix lord
- 10 Harlequins w Shadowseer, Troupe master, Death jester, 7 kisses
- 5 Warp spiders w Exarch w Fast Shot + Spinneret rifle
- 10 dire avengers, Wave serpent w scatter lasers & holo-fields
- 10 dire avengers, Wave serpent w scatter lasers & holo-fields
- Wraithknight
Dark Eldar allies
- DE archon
- 5 incubi w Venom
- 5 troop choice in venom
I havent actually got the Dark eldar codex but i figured the Dark eldar detachment would come to about 350 points, is that accurate?
I dont know what troops to put in the venom, i might use wyches what wargear should the archon have?
Assuming that i got the approximate points right it comes to about 1750, i could bump it up to 1850 if neccesary though
Thoughts?

If you want to use just cool models, I vote Helions cause seriously amazing models and it's like 130 points for ten of them.

Those DE units will run you about 250 without any wargear so your estimate of 350 is pretty close.
Archon w/ a shadow field and agonizer will be a good cheapish leader for your Incubi.
As for the 5 warriors give them a blaster for anti tank if needed and never leave the venom.
Always give your Venoms the extra splinter cannon as well. For only 10 more points your getting 6 more poison shots.

Hollismason, the purpose was to use my models that I've spent lots of time modelling and painting & and while i fully agree on your point that hellions are great looking models i dont own them nor have i got any painted up to use.
greenterror88, thanks by the looks of it with the upgrades you mentioned( shadowfield & agoniser on archon, blaster on warriors, each venom with a extra splinter cannon) does that bring it up to the 350 point range? i was thinking of using the incubi venom for turbo-boosting towards the enmey though not shooting should i keep the splinter weapons or should i grab a sail?

The WWP on the Archon works really well, allows a unit to deep strike where they want without scattering. It could be useful to get the Harlequins into close combat.
Yeah they can't assault on turn they come in, but you could drop them somewhere in cover, so that they'll be in range next turn

Good point, that doesnt make it over the 350 point range for the allies though does it?

I think it was 40pts, so it depends how you kit out the rest of them. I think someone has mentioned you should be a bit under the 350pts limit and have some points to spend on upgrades.
Take shadow field and WWP on the Archon, a 2++ save is really handy

Would you still recommend the agoniser?, do the incubi need any upgrades?

I don't know too much about DE, it was my friends allied list, I think he took the agonizer but never used it.
We used the archon to deep strike in some d-scythe wraitguard, worked really well.
I'm not sure what upgrades the incubi can take. We took the Klaivex but he died to over watch before getting into battle, so 30pts wasted

i would definitely say archon with portal, agoniser, soul trap, shadow field, and armour of misery. its 180 points but gives him a 2++, 4+ 6++, poison 4+ AP3 weapon that gains strength when he wins challenges, the armour gives him fear, good vs everything except marines lol.
put him in with the clowns then have him meet up with incubi when they catch up, use the warriors with a blaster.
your eldar models speak for themselves only thing out of place is your phoenix lord he could do with some spectres as a guard squad and it would be a perfect looking army as long as you don't come into contact with any aircraft.

Isn't that the armour that reduces enemy leadership by 2? If it is I'll definitely give it a try, sounds good. I'll have to start painting up my spectres then, any recommendations on what I should use them with?
