Having finally received my copy of Myth, I find myself dissatisfied with the bases the minis come with. Clear acrylic seems to be the way to go, but as the subject line says, I'm not sure what thickness to request when I order them from the plastics guy. I assume someone can help me...

1mm will be stiff enough as a 25mm GW base replacement. If the models are bigger, then I would suggest 2mm thick.
If really big (like the current 'centre-piece' models are churning out at the moment) then 3mm.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Strange...I use 0.5 mm polycarbonate for all my plastic bases. It is more than stiff enough to avoid a floppy disk feel, and it helps to avoid the "I carry my soap box with me at all times" issue that occurs with regular height bases and figures around things like terrain and vehicles.

It will depend a good bit on the specific formulation - but just to give you an idea of things and things...a lot of guitar picks are made out of polycarbonate. If 1 mm is thick enough to survive a guitar solo - it should be able to support a miniature (or even a knight sized model for that matter).

Thanks kindly. I'll see how much .5mm and 1mm come out to in bulk.
