Nothing too fancy. Feedback appreciated.

Patch: Thousand Son have the Bodyguard Rule. Characters in a Thousand Sons unit automatically pass Look Out Sir! rolls.

Lore of Tzeentch:

Primaris: Boon of Change: Range 12 "Blessing". Target a single non-vehicle friendly unit within 12". Roll on the Chaos Boons table, rerolling Dark Ascension results. All models receive the bonus until the start of the controlling player's next turn. Assorted tweaks:
-Spawnhood: Replace the first available character, or a single non-character model.
-Witch-Eater only causes a single hit on successful Deny the Witch.
-Icy Aura: Enemy models in base contact with the *Unit* (rather than individual models) take a S4 AP 5 hit.
-Bloated targets the first available character in the unit. If there are no characters, this has no effect.

D3 Roll:

1) Tzeentch's Firestorm: Becomes a WC 1 Blessing, targeting the Psyker's unit. Ranged weapons gain +1 Strength
2) Doombolt: Unchanged
3) Breath of Chaos: Unchanged.

EDIT: Switched Tzeentch's Firestorm and Boon of Mutation around, as Firestorm would be *useless* on a Daemon Prince, and the reliability of Firestorm is generally more preferable to the comedy of Boon.

A good twist on boon. Bloated I think is still kinda clunky. What happens at the start of the next turn? if they got bumped up to 2W then took a wound later that turn. When their remaining trun comes around do they loose their remaining wound or do they not lose anything at all?

Tzeentch's firestorm seems ok in the context of TSons since their primary function is firing their bolters. However the power seems much less useful to an HQ sorcerer. I would consider making it castable on a different unit within 12" or so.

Breath of Chaos in its current form I think is much too weak for WC2 power. Especially considering you have to get your fragile sorc in assault range in order to use it. I'd either bump it down to WC1 or buff it in someway, maybe Large blast 12" range.

Hey thanks. I was mostly trying to keep myself from going *too* overboard with changes.

Maybe "Reroll Bloated" would be simpler. Or just say it "reanimates a dead model for a turn." Because hey, necromancy. *shrug*

Firestorm would be *really* useful for non-1k son units, and my concern was whether it would be too good for a Sorcerer that could camp with (as an example) Plasma Chosen/Plasma Bikers, for a wave of S8 shots. However, for a Daemon Prince, it would be a far weaker choice to the point it's mostly useless.

There were a few other ideas floating around, but another alternative would be to swap out the "+1 unit strength" bonus Psyker Power instead. Let me know what you think of some alternate ideas:

Primaris Power:
Master of Magic. WC 1 (or perhaps 2. There's a lot of potential versatility). Master of Magic is a *Blessing* that targets the Psyker. For the duration of this Psychic Phase, the Psyker may attempt the Psyker Powers of any Psyker (friend or foe) within 12" of him as if though already known. The Psyker must still spend WC and roll to cast the spells as appropriate, and cannot cast the same spell twice. For example, if the Psyker and two adjacent Psykers each knew Psychic Scream, the Tzeentchian Psyker could only cast Psychic Scream once.
(Optionally a restriction on only being able to steal core rulebook powers this way, rather than fluff or codex-specific powers?)

Giving Breath of Chaos Fleshbane is an option. Torrent is too much of a cop-out, however. A more amusing idea, perhaps, would be to give it the special rule Catalyst of Change.

"Catalyst of Change: If Catalyst of Change inflicts any unsaved casualties on an enemy unit, then for the remainder of the Psychic Phase, all Witchfires and Maledictions targeting this unit are cast with 1 additional free Warp Charge."

Thanks again.

My solution is to delete the mandatory Sorcerer to reduce cost of the squad by 58pts! You essential just buy 4 Tsons instead.

With out an aspiring sorc or champion, Thousand Sons will be viable as there are no challenges to be issued or accepted. Now they can be true rubricae body guards for your hq or you could just cart 10 of them in a rhino and disembark and shoot. Or you can march 20 of them up the board to be shot at hopefully utilizing their 4++ save.

No more useless lvl 1 psyker
