I'm thinking about painting my Thousand Sons like Roman legionnaires, with lots of red, silver and gold. Now, I don't really know how to.
The Red Corsairs is one way I could paint.
I've seen some Spartan-type marines with one of the other companies. Can't remember which, but wayland has those. I think they'd look much nicer in the roman scheme than the 1k Sons models. The iconography and style is too egyptian for anything else... but that's just my two cents.
Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons were red with gold trim. Sounds like you may as well just start with the Horus Heresy stuff from Forgeworld and hope they release models for them sometime soon.
