In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE

This is the sergeant of my second Terminator squad, I had a lot of fun painting this guy. It's the first time I've painted a 'new' Terminator (I still have some older Terminators, the ones on the smaller bases) and coincidentally the first time I've used a resin base (from MicroArt studios, in case you were wondering).

I know the paintjob isn't perfect (especially the head; painting flesh just doesn't work out with me), but I wanted to see what you guys think of my work so far

Any tips or tricks on how to improve my painting are more than welcome

Enjoy!

I really wanted his pose to look menacing but also calm and composed. Sure, he's screaming orders around, but he's also overlooking the battlefield with eagle eyes, analyzing the situation.
(or at least, that's what he looks like to me)

I really like hazard stripes, mostly because the yellow contrasts nicely with the Chapter's purple/black theme.

The Chapter's heraldry: a raven with a skull at its centre. It took a while to get right, but I think it worked out fine in the end.

I've got the rest of the Terminator squad still waiting for construction, along with a couple Scouts and some Tactical Marines.

Colors are... intriguing. Only criticism I have right away is to darken up the yellow/black cabling on the arms.

It looks really out of place, unless you were going for that.

Otherwise you're doing a bang up job so far.

How I paint faces is dwarf flesh base coat, paint the flat areas and pointing out parts like cheeks, the nose etc in elf flesh, wash with devlin mud and re apply elf flesh as a highlight , can't remember the new names for the paints :/ and also a light bone colour as a final highlight

I think the model looks great and agree the yellow works with purple/black.

I do agree with BladeTX though, that the yellow could be more subdued for greater effect.

I think the face could use a few successive (watered down) washes of browns, possibly a really watery purple wash too, it would provide a bit more natural hue to the skin and ever so slightly bring it in line with the purple palette of the armour.

As for overall, the model is awesome and the base really helps add to overall quality of work.
