What you get, if you play "Sentinels of Terra" in standard 40K is standard "Imperial Fists" chapter tactics, however you replace "Bolter Drill" with "Close Range Bolter Drill", keep the "Siege Masters" chapter tactic, and add the ability to take Devastator Centurions as Elites and HS, and Assault Centurions as Elites and Fast Attack. You also get to take the special unit called "Tor Garadon's 1st Tactical Squad", and access to the relics (Bones of Osrak is a must!) and Warlord traits in the supplement. The formation, as mentioned by Phoenix, is an Apocalypse formation. You can't take that for standard 40K games. The Sentinels don't have a standard "formation" like other armies have received, but you build a CAD or Allied detachment using the Sentinels Chapter Tactics, and let me tell you, Close Range Bolter Drill is a MONSTER!
One of the nice things, if you are into fluff, is earlier in the book, every unit is identified by name during the days of the "Crusade of Thunder", including the tanks, dreadnoughts, and single TFC, so there's that.
