Hey all, one more concept list I wanted to run by the ork players. I'm about to go buy all of these guys and get them painted.... finally....

Anyway nothing to far out, I am curious about HQ's though. This list is for basically just the beginning of my army. Everything will grow from here once I have more painting time. Thoughts and concerns are welcome!

HQ 94pts
Warboss
-Eavy Armor
-Cybork Body
-PK

Troops

12 Boyz 142pts
-Truck
- Nob
-BP
-PK

11 Boyz 96pts
-Truck

Fast Attack

14x Stormboyz 166pts
-Nob
-BP
-PK

Total- 498pts

Decent starting force I say, but plan your army list out. You can either go greentide, speed freak, dread bash, CAD...etc. Or get a whole bunch of orks to fulfill whatever list you want to throw at your opponent. Once you started running your orks against your opponents your list will change overtime to adapt to your play style and against your most commonly played enemies. I started out using green tide but eventually shifted towards a more mechanized ork CAD with MANz missiles and wagon train. Think long term for your list and build on that.

Your HQ, Warboss in this case, should either be MA or on bike. MA or bike greatly increase your boss' survival out there. Also if your boss is footslogging, definitely get nobz bodyguard, or stick the boss with the 11 trukk boyz. The point is to get the boss into the fight asap. Also, get painboy, definitely get painboy.

Hey Fr3ddy, thanks for the response! I see you're from Federal Way? I'm from Tacoma here. Anyway thanks for the pointers.

The Warboss will be going in the truck that has 11 boys in it. In future lists he will be in MA and a battle wagon. I'm mainly curious if he is the best HQ choice.

Great advice on making sure the units fit a certain style/theme of playing. I guess I should have posted my overall picture for the army as a whole. Basically it's going to be three trucks two battlewagons, some stormboyz and probably big guns/rokkits. I'm really going for the mobile approach and to get right in the opponents face.

With the above info, if you have any other insight that would be appreciated! Cheers.

You seem right on track.

At 500 points this is very competitive.

I would drop Cybork for a Boss Pole.

Warbosses lead almost every list. As such it is hard to go wrong buying one.

At large points I run him with PK, free shoota and either a Big Boss Pole (Green Tide) or Lucky Stick.

Long Term:

Also if you looking to go fast you could run 90 Storm Boyz. Instead of Trukks. Just as fast and large squads doing it.

Look at the Ghazkul Supplement for Formations. You should be able to find the supplement as a PDF. It is mostly fluff so not worth paying for.

Mek Gunz are damn good, but not really useful in a Fast Army, unless you run Lobbas they dont have the range. They work best with foot sloggers.

Our planes are good as long your opponent isnt running SM planes.

Also remember to max squads.
12 trukk
20 Battle Wagon
30 foot

Good luck,

FASTA, DAKKA, WAAAGH, KRUMP, ORKS WIN AGAIN!!!

Thanks man. I will have to pull up one of those formations and take a look. 90 Storm Boyz just sounds to interesting and with their price decrease in points might be an option.

So do you think the PK's are good enough for counter tank or should I put a rokkit on each truck and a rokkit in each boyz squad?

Cheers

... Ok I checked out the formations a little closer. Totally looks fun but I'm not that sold on Stormboyz yet!...

You can run Storm Boyz as a fast attack slot in your CAD.

General consensus is Free Rokkits are better than Big Shootas. So swap them on the Trukks.

At 500, more boyz are beter than inaccurate toyz. If we had a good BS that would be different, but we don't.

Higher points. It appears common to give Trukk Boyz a Rokkit.

PK is the best counter Tank/MEQ we have at any points level. Ranged S 8 is inaccurate and hits front Armor. 8 vs 13 or 14 isn't very good. 8 or 9 on the charge verses Rear Armor is a winner. Plus my Boy tend to Hull out most vehicles before my Klaws get to swing.

Ok right on. I will just keep them on the trukks... for now... haha. I figure if i'm throwing out as many rokkits as possible one is bound to do something somewhere, even if it just takes out a space marine.
