Hello

If an IC with Slow and purposeful join a unit. Is there tranfer of the rule ?

The "they" refers to all models in the unit or just those with the special rule ?

It does not transfer thee rule, but the unit benefits from/is penalized by it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

The rule reads 'A unit that contains at least one model with this special rule cannot Run, Turbo-Boost, move Flat Out, perform Sweeping Advances or fire Overwatch', BRB p.171. Therefore the the rule transfers to all models. EDIT: Transfer in the sense that the effects of the USR affect all models in the unit, but they don't gain the USR technically.

Interestingly, RAW it then also seems that the ability to move, shoot and assault in one turn with Heavy, Ordnance, Salvo and Rapid Fire weapons also transfers, which is pretty odd.

Answered in the very first sentence (indeed the very first words) of the Slow and Purposeful rule.

Always wondered about this with regards to MANz missle. Doesn't that mean that a Truk cannot flat out if MANz are embarked?

Another neat thing though does that mean that you can attach terminator IC to centurions... then move and fire as if they did not move!?

Since they're always separate units, why would the trukk not be able to flat out?

The use of "They" is as a non-gender referral to the models with SaP. Only the models with SaP get the benefit that they can move and shoot heavy weapons, not the other models in the unit they have joined.

Since Models don't "Join" transports but embark on them the transport is not slowed down.

Terminators have Relentless (a different rule that doesn't pass over to the squad), and Centurions have SAP.

Both allow you to move and fire anyway.

Not so, it's not a singular they in this case. The "they" refers to the "Unit that contains at least on model with this special rule".

Yes, a unit with at least one model with SnP is effected by the entire rule. They don't technically gain it, but they still benefit.

Here is the rule verbatim,

A unit that contains at least one model with this special rule cannot Run, Turbo-boost, move Flat-out, perform Sweeping Advances, or fire Overwatch. However, they can shoot with Heavy, Salvo, and Ordinance weapons, counting as stationary even if they moved in the previous Movement phase. They are also allowed to charge in the same turn they fire Heavy, Ordinance, Rapid-fire, or Salvo weapons.

Per the rules of the English language, the "they" in the second sentence refers to the "A unit that contains at least one model with this special rule" in the first sentence.

So as long as one guy in the unit has SnP, they can all move and charge in the same turn they fire salvo, ordinance, rapid-fire, and heavy weapons.
