Hey folks i was just hoping to pick your brain on some tactics for dealing with Eldar im playing a friend who loves to run wraithknights and im trying to find a way to deal with him were playing 2000 points not idea on mission yet tho. i have pretty much all the CSm models and daemons except for a few.

If you use FW, get a couple Sicaran Battle Tanks. They pretty much stop Waveserpents dead. You just need to watch out for Haywire grenades, that's the only real counter to them.

If not, from what I understand, Fatewaver / LOC + fleshhounds appears to be a good combo, maybe backed up by Plague Hulks / Obliterators / Defilers / anything with ordnance.

If you play Black Legion, the Eye of Night will destroy at least one WaveSerpent.

Relic of the Armory prevents multiple Relic models in the same CAD sadly.. (IIRC)

You can have 2 in a detatchment if you have Abbadon, a malefic sorcerer or a warpsmith. you can have one in a detatchment that isn't your primary if you have one of them as a HQ

It's easily my favorite tank in the game. It lets me have 5 terminator + lord and or a special character with terminator armor in a 5 HP landraider that ignores melta and put out lascannon shots like like nobody's business.
Though it's quite hard for me to fit it into an army that is below 2000p because of it's high pointcost but that is just me.
But remember to ask you oppontent if you can field it before you do because it's FW and yes you can use it but some players just feel uncomfortable playing against FW and therefore declines if you insist on using it.

Nor is that tank as scary as a lot of things in the Eldar codex, sadly. I'd go daemon heavy, but that's just me. Your Nurgle Princes are going to be money against the wraithknights, what with the Balesword, but they will be hard to keep alive in the face of a lot of Serpents. Flesh Hounds can work wonders against serpents because they are fast, relatively tough, and will eat AV10 for breakfast on the charge. Try and keep his Serpents occupied with them until you can get into combat with Nurgle Princes. Be wary of engaging Wraith Knights unless you have Endurance or Iron Arm though, that S10 is nasty. With the Balesword you do have something like a ~75% chance to take one down before he gets to swing at you though, so you can charge if you must.

If you bring a lot of hounds there is a decent chance you can box him in his deployment zone. It's tricky against Eldar though, because if you give him too much room on the backside of your lines, he'll just hop right over you.

Nurgle daemon princes and daemonettes are good choices for threatening wraithknights, though they are vulnerable to waveserpents.

A unit of hounds never goes a miss, they are useful for chasing down waveserpents. A herald of Khorne with an axe will be a threat to wraithknights, and cover a weakness of the hounds.

Against eldar in general I love to use soulgrinders. Serpent spam lists have to change their game to counter them. Eldar lists will usually have to commit firedragons or wraithknights to take them down, and doing this means that they have to get close to you.

Is your friend cool with proxies? If so taking 2 Grinders would be awesome. They're just so much better. If you take a little mini-SummoningStar they're even better. I frequently run 2 Heralds of Tzeentch with 6-8 Screamers. I love that unit. Decent assault capabilities + mobile summoning + Cursed Earth = awesomesauce

I'm taking a Lvl 3 sorcerer and sticking him with a unit of 10 pink horrors and he's rolling on malefic sadly I don't have any screamers but I'm taking flesh hounds. Just found our he's playing Taudar and he's going to proxy two of the forgeworld riptides

You can't join CSM characters to Daemon squads.

Also, if he is bringing two of the Forgeworld Riptides, you may want to hang up your hat cause they're incredibly over powered.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.
