History

The black blades have a noble creation, they were created during the 23rd founding out of a necessity after the cursed 21st founding it was apparent that the Imperium lacked the necessary Astartes forces to launch colonization campaigns further expanding the Imperiums holdings and resources to fuel its ever continuing war. The Black Blades fulfill this role. Long have they been taking the fight to the enemy, striking out from their home planet, Varonis, located within the Segmentum Obscurus they have expanded their small empire to protecting over 30 inhabited worlds.

The Anvil, their fortress monestary, is located on a raised slope of mountain overlooking the planetary capital, Lagos. The Anvil is not the only fortress under the possession of the chapter. The 4 battle companies of the chapter operate on the northern fringe of imperial space out of a fortress on the moon of Eramis. The forward operating base of the chapter, codenamed 'Swordbase', is the rallying point for all campaigns launched under command of the Black Blades.

Sword base is not only the ground base on the moons surface but also the Orbital rally station in near orbit to the moon. capable of rearming and resupplying even the largest of imperial crusades. The ground base is located on the largest continent on the moon, it is a near replica to The Anvil on Viranus. Overlooking the main citadel, it is a formidable fortress with the above ground surface area of the fortress only consisting of 18% of the total fortress size. Most of the inner fortress is dedicated to the fabrication of munitions, new suits of armour and repairs while the outer fortress works are bristling orbital guns and ground fortifications to repulse both air and land attacks.

The Black Blades have been the heroes of many campaigns nearly all launched in reclamation of lost imperial settlements and conquering new ground. Currently the chapter is led by the conclave, a group made up of the 1st compnay captain, and the captain of each battle company forming together to lead the chapter and rebuild after the loss of their chapter master who disappeared on the way to a warzone along with nearly 3 full companies of battle brothers the entirety of the 5th company and portions of the 3rd and 4th were suspected casualties of the anomaly. All chapter decisions are passed by the conclave, they control the flow of requests, from within the chapter and pleas from the rest of the imperium. Recently the chapter has seen harsh resistance in the northern area of expansion uncovering a heavily guarded sector by the by a splinter band of iron warriors claiming dominion over this sector and claiming to control 3 others as well. 2nd company captain Caestan Garro has been launching lightning fast raids into the traitor held space picking off weak smaller vessels and other targets of opportunity but with only half of a company there is not much he can do until the rest of company and more armoured support and elements of the reserve companies can be drawn to their cause.Soon the battle will be brought directly to the enemy in his territory with the might of the gathered Astarte against decendents of their arch enemiesnothing can stop the fury of the chapter descding upon the small group of Iron Warriors.

Be interested to know about the Conclave. Also this 'empire', is it similar to Ultramar, are the normal Imperial authorities not up to the task? Is there a major threat that requires the Black Blades to oversee all these worlds?

Also the chapter symbol is just a black screen.

Ah yes the conclave I'm working on getting this written up before putting it on here but the conclave is similar to the iron circle of the iron hands having no central figure of command only the conclave is only temporary for reasons I will disclose later on
