Subject: Chapters that want to burn down the world for the greater good? advise needed

Which chapters, or successors thereof, fights for universal peace in their own deranged way? More specifically i'm looking for a chapter that will use any means necessary to bring peace to the universe, and put an end to the warmongering leaders, by burning down everything so the universe can be rebuilt in the ashes.
If none exist, which force would be best suited for a successor chapter that behaves that way. Perhaps Chaos will be using the ancient daemons to fulfill their goal?
What are your views? really need help since i know nothing about the history of the 40K universe

I'm sure that Ultramarines are okay with the Tau, so probably one of their many successors?

That's Nurgle's view (everything dies, new life rises from the Ashes. He's the god of death and rebirth, and the Black Crusade RPG specifically spells it out that his goal is to finally put this rotting world to rest so new life can rise again. Of course, Chaos will be hurt and might even die with it but Chaos too will be reborn when new life is). The Purge in particular emphasizes this (they want to kill EVERYTHING because they believe everything must die for the greater good), and Nurgle loves them, to the point where they get blessed nurgle weaponry that no other Chaos marine warband gets. Apparently gods have different aspects or something because even other Nurgle followers find the extremist Nurgle death cults to be kinda freaky (and hate being stereotyped as them, lol) according to Black Crusade. Probably kinda like how even Khorne worshippers get freaked out by Kharn sometimes, yet Khorne adores Kharn (well, as much as a god of hate can do that), too.
No Imperial Institution holds that view, though. At least, not openly (there's a very radical branch of the Inquisition that does in Dark Heresy 2nd Edition but their belief was declared heresy so any Inquisitors that still hold that belief keep it a secret). A recurring theme of the grim dark and of the Imperium is to survive no matter how crappy things get. Given that ALL Imperial Factions are usually more defensive than offensive in their operations (most factions spend their time SAVING planets, not destroying them), odds are any Marine chapter that seriously believes all life should die would probably turn to Chaos pretty quickly, since being a member of the Imperium isn't a very good way to accomplish that goal unless you're trying to go about it in a Tzeentchian manner (...which would still probably involve turning to Chaos. Secretly).

The Alpha Legion towards the end of the great crusade they were approached about just this same topic by an group called the cabal consisting of xenos and humans alike. They were told of 2 fates the universe could have one where the emperor won and an eternal war was fought for the next 10,000+ years or helping horus win and letting chaos destroy itself. So i would assume that even though the cabals mission failed the alpha legion would still be fighting for this cause for the greater good of the universe.

Yeah, this appears to be more of a Chaosy thing: burn it all down and start fresh. Or, at least, that's what some of them claim to believe anyway (maybe they really do, though I doubt it would be rebuilt all nice and tidy).
There are a variety of Loyalist chapters that take the whole "Kill them all, the Emperor will sort them out" kind of approach if that's more what you're looking for.

I would throw the Carcharodons Astra out there as and exaple of the "kill 'em all" attitude. I mean, they did set off a chain reaction to blow up a planet with other loyalist still on it without so much as a warning. Maybe the Exicutioners and Minotaurs as well to some extent. Although I think they are all on a much smaller scale than youi proposed.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Actually, the Soul Drinkers are like that. Some of them atleast. Mutated and called heretics by the Imperium, they still are loyal to the Emperor, but not the Imperium and would happily destroy it. The younger generation (circa Chapter War) are actually very adamant about it and want to cause another Age of Strife so the Imperium would flounder and die and new and better systems rise up.

The Purge are an interesting and best example of this as already mentioned. They appear to believe that in order to win against Chaos, all life must be wiped out from the galaxy. In the process, they appear to use all sorts of chemical and biological weaponry to wipe out populations. It could be that they are unaware of themselves falling to Nurgle, or perhaps they think they are striking a short term deal with Nurgle and once the galaxy is cleansed of life Nurgle will die off as well.
There can be all sorts of renegade Chapters that see themselves as better able to rule the Imperium (or parts of it) and bring peace and order than the current civilian administration. Of course the rest of the Imperium may just see this as warlordism and private empire building.

Sometimes i feel as if the Flesh Tearers could fit that bill. There are times they almost kill a squadron of blood angels willingly, and other times where they hidE their presence from friendlies so as to not rip other imperial forces apart. Theyre bipolar marines.

It's just that you have to give them really specific instructions.
I mean, they were told to create a diversion. Blowing up the planet certainly counts as a diversion.

Just about any chapter besides Salamanders and Space Wolves fits this. Ultramarines will (and have) burnt entire worlds for the concept of the greater benefit of humanity.

Ehm, even the Inquisition will blow up a planet if it serves the greater good of the Imperium. "Men must die so that Man can endure" being rather a daily axiom in the Imperium.
However, none of these factions are fighting for peace. They know that there is no such thing, "As long as the enemies of the Emperor still draw breath, there can be no peace", as the saying goes.

As Sigismund once said, "We will spend our lives fighting to secure this Imerium, and then I fear we will spend the rest of our days fighting to keep it intact... In the far future, there will be only war."
Bolded the applicable part.
