The bugs just got another wave of new models, after that fething OP Dimachaeron with WS8, I6, FNP after eating someone and Instant Death weapons. However, while the 5 new units may seem cool at first, are they really worth it? I have read the stats and none of them appeals to me. Just had a game where my opponent brings a Maleceptor. For 205 points, it has generic MC stats with Master level 2 and 5+ invul. Psychic Overload is a juiced up version of Psychic Shriek, but not worth 2 Warp Charge. For the same amount, I can grab a Dreadknight with Teleporter and Force Weapon and kill it without taking any damage. Which was exactly what happened. My GK and Eldar wiped out his army and I only took 1 wound on the Dreadknight due to Peril. I just don't see how to make the Maleceptor work. Not even Mutilator, Storm Guardains and Ratlings can be that kind of bad. Any thought on the new models?

I like all of them except the Maleceptor.

The new Zoanthrope upgrade character seems nice, though I always forget it's name.

Haha.

They all seem to be a rubbish. Dima from Forge World is the best by miles. I picked up two drop pods and now I am regreating it. If they dont have a good formation in the new campaign book I hope to be able to trade them.

Too true, stats were done in the Tyranid thread, Dimachaeron outshines everyone, include the Toxicrene who GW tried to sell me.

I must ask, why do you regret the Pods? They're an amazing unit choice in my opinion. The other four new units range from meh to terrible, with Mucolids and Toxicrenes being the only ones worth considering. But, as mentioned, in FW games the Dima does outshine the Tox easily.

Well, yeah. They look very nice, but always under-perform in battle.
