Hey

I'm looking at starting an Alpha Legion 30k army soon. The turquoise colour that FW have given them is quite unique and I was thinking of using the Badger Ghost Tint range but I've not seen any models with the turquoise colour Plasma Fluid.

Does anyone have a model they have used it on? Doesn't have to be a Space Marine just anything that shows the colour.

I have. Check out this thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/524844.page

The aegis Defense line I used plasma fluid on it. I also tested it on an old Rhino door.

My only advice is to go real light on it. It stacks up fast and will get dark quickly with multiple layers.

Spray from further would not hurt either.

Thank you, I am still unsure about using it. I think the shade is right and with the pre shading done could give a good contrast but on white it looks a little too bright.

Thank you very much for your reply, I am going to have to bite the bullet buy it and have a dabble.

there are also some dark blue ghost tints. if you mix those with plasma fluid or with green they could work great.

Do ghost tints mix well? I can't imagine that they won't but I haven't seen it been done

they mix,

They are also pretty awesome. I have been using them to build up a test scheme on my eldar. I would go get a picture but thats in the garage and its freezing!

I would recommend them to anyone with an airbrush tbh, they look light in that photo, but a couple layers and it gets pretty dark. They are transparent and they are awesome with a little preshading. The blue will get reasonably dark with layers, think darker than ultramarines (slightly), or will stay icy with a light coat. also as they are transparent they can be awesome for blending in some darker blues over some already blue models.

Whats your scheme?
ah just and went and looked,
yeh I think you'll like ghost tints They have a slightly glossy look anyway, but if you base them in a light metalic, then blue over that. or simply blue over white for an non metallic look.
like these?
I think tints would work well on these. a little light layer of green in some shadow areas, then blue over that to get a nice blue with some blends. Then for the rust they've done below I actually think either pigments or oil washes would be your best bet, as pigments give a really nice grainy effect, or oil washes give you the total control.

Thanks for the info, however those marines have not been painted with Ghost Tints. I have been looking at the blog they belong too for sometime but the colour is a bit bright and I don't think I can reproduce weathering anywhere near as good as that.

I don't know about ghost tints but that weathering is pretty east to pull off, you just use a heavy wash of paint, I have a really good brand at home, but I think its called Polly Scale Rust.

I haven't had any problems mixing them but I've been in a google hangout with Les from Awesome Paintjob while he was painting a titan. He mixed the ghost tints Magenta and Orange and they somehow clotted when they came in contact with eachother... I've mixed the blues and had no such effect.
