The FLGS is getting back into X-Wing again (YES!), and we played a "tournament" last night with 8 people! It was a better turnout then expected.

My list: three Hawks, if you can believe that! I messed up on my force selection, and there were a few things I'd rather swap out, but...

Kyle Katarn HWK-290
Moldy Crow
Recon Specialist
Marksmanship
Blaster Turret
Shield Upgrade

Jan Ors HWK-290
Han Solo
Squad Leader
Hull Upgrade
Blaster Turret

Roark Garnet HWK-290
Ion Cannon
Recon Specialist

I kind of threw the list together, and wish I would have thought a few things out better. Han Solo on Han was a mistake- should have been Recon Specialist, and then maybe C-3PO on Roark. The amount of Focus I had was... I think I had about 12 tokens on the Moldy Crow at one point? It was insane the amount of synergy this list had, and the actions/focus I was able to give out. On to the battles!

Game One
3x Tie Interceptors w/ Stealth Generators (4 Defense Dice!!! OMG!) and Soontir Fel

Played a lot in the asteroids trying to mitigate his speed and giving me an extra defense die every once in a while. Due to my very, very poor shooting (couldn't hit the broad side of an asteroid, even with Target Locks and Focus!) and my opponent's 4 Def Dice- well, I managed to get 2 of 'em before he blasted me off the table. 1 loss for me.

Game Two
A-Wing Tycho, Wes in an X-wing, and Red something (standard X-wing). Took a lot of heavy hits up front, but then he was close and going to overshoot me. Used Ion Cannon on Wes the whole game, killed the Red Squad X-wing, A-wing boosted clear across the board, so I then took out Wes. I had Jan and Roark left at this point, and spent the game chasing down Tycho. I kept hitting him, and he kept evading (stupid dice!), time was called, and I won on points.

Game Three
Wedge, Tycho, and Wes again, but this time- lots of Proton Torps and Flechete Missiles. My opponent flew straight at me, got target locks, and unloaded torps into me. Lost Kyle and serious hurt on Jan. I managed a few shots back that he easily evaded- or I just rolled nothing but blanks on all my dice for about 3-4 attacks. Wasn't able to evade hardly at all. Ion Cannon'd Wedge a few times, and my opponent messed up his maneuvers, and ended up in a small cluster ball of ships in the middle of the table. The game was over soon after. Loss for me.

If I had optimized my list a little better, and thought about what upgrades were going on which ship, the list would have performed a lot better. If I could roll more than 1 hit with Focus and Target Locks, things would have been a lot different. I can see more than a few one sided matches with this list. I got the sinking feeling in my stomach when I saw three players with Millennium Falcons (Fat Han was EVERYWHERE!). I never got to play against one, but it would have been interesting I think. I'd have been hitting him with an Ion Cannon every turn and just plink plink plink until he was dead, but I dunno. Hope to play against such a list soon.

I was pretty amazed at the maneuver dial of the HWK-290 combined with the Blaster Turret. Focus was never an issue for firing it, but there were times when I wish I could have used an evade. I wish they had an attack value of 2 instead of 1, or that they had an evade symbol on the ship. Holding over focus from turn to turn was awesome on Kyle, and being able to hand it out was even better. I never really felt out gunned except the third match when my opponent "Alpha Striked" me. Even then, there was a chance for me except I just could not roll my dice worth a darn. the 360 turret and range 1-2 was never an issue either. All in all, it was a fun list, but I think I might try a Kyle Kartan/Wedge list next time for a little more fire power.

Overall winner was a Luke/Wedge/Red Squad with Astormechs replacing shields every turn list. Was pretty funny listening to the double Falcon player complaining about how "broken" it was. Second place was the Wedge/Tycho/Wes list I played in game three. Third place was the double Falcon guy. I game in 5th or 6th I think.

I can't wait until Scum and Villainy comes out!

OKLAHOMA!!!

That is a very interesting list, to say the least.

Glad to hear it did better than a "fat han" list though.

I've played something similar before, nowhere near as refined as yours. It's a bit like flying Y Wings with more dodge and utility.
