Hello. I am sure someone has already come up with this, but while learning the 7th ed rules, I thought up a possible (or possibly stupid) trick.
Please feel free to tear this idea apart. It wouldn't be a good thing to always do admittedly, but maybe worth a shot?

You have a little summoning group of heralds hidden in the back table, in cover only a few inches from a table edge mixed a block of troops.
You successfully summon a squad.
You place the first model behind the heralds, on the board edge. Somewhere super sketchy.
Scatter. (Or Hit) off the table or in a location they can not be deployed. ( Cant place whole unit then
50% chance of being placed in ongoing reserves and guaranteed deep strike next turn (Conjuration) wherever you want.
33% chance enemy places them where they want, no scatter. Dangerous terrain test likely but still free unit on the table.
17% chance of (well that was a terrible idea).

Have at it.

You can do that. But it seems like a long and convoluted way to get a few extra units because you are gonna need them to be summoned by turn 2 to be effective. So you are gonna get maybe 3 extra units in the game, and you spent a large portion of your points getting to that point.

Yeah that's a terrible idea.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Not at all stupid, but definitely not worthwhile.

Its not good. All you get is a 50% to deep strike the conjured units anywhere on the board at the cost of being delayed a turn but even then it still has to successfully deep strike to be worth it so has less then a 50% to be useful. Also the other 50% will make the conjured unit useless (as 2-3 mishap result almost always makes the unit useless which is something our conjured assault units already have trouble with). The risk is in no way worth the reward.

Alternatively you could have just had a mobile daemon psyker such as a FMC fly up to midfield and had the same desired result without all the risk and drawbacks.

Cunning. Might work for a late game when you absolutely need a squad at the other side of the table. Summon daemonettes. Hope to get delayed. Deepstrike + run. Nice when you got nothing to loose and can win a point or two.

Yeah, the daemon factory is a bit of a late game army as is, I think that May only hurt them a little further. Good idea but not reliable.
